Well, back in action, sort of. According to the Geek, for the normal person Windows 11 is more problematic than previous versions and of course Microsoft is working on it.
He said, all the company's are trying to have us go to subscription cloud based systems, which is why One Drive is becoming not an option to have or not have.
Even when I was diving deep into my Synology NAS they where offering cloud based at $5.99 a month. Wait, my NAS and my copied external hard drives are my cloud.

1. I used Synology Assistant to map network drive. I did this myself, but kept losing it, turning off and on PC. Geek showed me to Pin To Quick Access. Now I can see what I have been looking at for over 10 years. Rip music to downloads, drag and drop to NAS.

2. The PC that I remote access into for playing music with JRiver. Same process as above. Now have to import from the new IP so JRiver can play the songs. Took about 12 hours to import from the NAS. It was pretty successful, it will take me awhile of course to notice any import errors if I even notice, most significantly what I have noticed is one track is missing, but that is an easy fix, I just go back and import that album only.
3. Have played via JRiver test track music (2.0-Mono-4.0-5.1-Atmos, FLAC-DSF-MKV) files and all good.

My ripping software for future rips, MakeMKV-DVDAE-Windows Media Player, all good.

Still need help:
Sonore ripping SACD via OPPO 105- think I will call my friend who helped me set up the key thumb drive and software years ago.
Music Media Helper-This should be so easy and the Geek gave it a good shot but admitted over his head.

I think I am able to say I now have all the bugs worked out on my new PC Windows 11 laptop.
Big learning curve, some previous simple things became hard.
My JRiver player did not like the change with the new importing IP address, but I understand the fits and just roll with it. The good news is it enables me to see imports and I have made decisions as to actually remove files from my NAS. Stuff I loaded on the NAS when I was a beginner. Work in progress. I don't mind as it is my hobby.

Sonore SACD Ripping: Not yet. I'll try to re-crack it open by end of this month.

Thanks everyone for the help.

If its any consolation, I have just had a Windows 10 update and now my PC won't let me connect to my Synology NAS  says I don't have the correct permissions.

So its hunt what sh*t the update has done to my Windows settings :mad:

Any progress?
My last ditch saving grace was the Synology Assistant>map network drive>pin run to start.
I tried doing the same from the DSM page and couldn't?

That would be the DSM page, where you can see all things in your Synology NAS.
The below screen shot shows the Synology Assistant, which will map the drive on the network, in my case the shortcut I named Music.
Right click and pin to start. See lower screen shot. I am ripping Elton John now, reason for seeing that.

I don't know if this will help you but as all my files are stored on external HDD's (I have nothing stored on the internal HDD). Under 'External Devices' it looks like this: -

Under 'Shared Folder' it looks like this: -

And under 'File Services' it looks like this: -

I can get to it via the NAS portal using Edge with no issues, but if I try and connect directly or to Map as a Drive, then it either gives me a no permissions error, or weirdly as is happening today it connects, but very very very slowly. So, just now I managed to transfer a test file from the PC to the NAS, the transfer rate was 278Bytes/second on a 1GB network! Earlier I rang a friend who runs an IT company and we think it is to do with password/credentials/handshake between the PC/NAS, and he tried to connect to his Synology NAS and he can't either post Windows update!

Hmmm...

Are you connecting through a network switch or through a router? When was the last time you re-booted ALL your networking gear?
Interesting, so you mean, reboot Modem/Router and all switches?
This makes sense.
I have 3 switches.
I was having trouble with the new PC, it did not like the ethernet connection from one of the switches. I rebooted just that one and the PC Ethernet connection came to life.
Sounds like rebooting all is good.
Would you reboot, one at a time, or walk around and shut all off and then start turning all back on.

I have a switch in the loft connected to the Router on the landing, all rooms are connected via 1G Ethernet to the switch, so the PC sits on direct connection to the switch, and the NAS are directly connected to the Router. So the switch in the loft hasn't be rebooted for a long time everything else has.

Web portal access is really fast, so just when File Explorer tries to look at a NAS does the issue occur

I had a very weird issue just before Christmas.

My TV, OPPO, 4K Fire Stick (via dongle) and laptop are connected to the same 5-port gigabit switch in my lounge. My 4K Fire Stick and TV were able to connect to the outside world but my laptop couldn't. So I ended up going into my loft where my BT router and 8-port switch is located and re-booted both devices. By the time I cleaned up, put the loft ladder away and got back into the lounge, everything was back to normal and working fine...
