Will you start at the bottom and work up, start at the top and work down or pick and choose carefully?
I really want to check out the Thin Lizzy and Tom Petty releases since they’re two of my favorite artists, then some quadios, Opeth, Elton John… so much surround goodness this year!

I received mine today finally. I ordered from Amazon.fr and after a week they sent me a little bag with pet food (there's no meme in the world to express how I felt when I opened the parcel) so they had to resend it and I had to wait one more week.
No time to listen to it in surround but I played a digital copy travelling today to my work and I liked. In fact I'm listening to it now while I'm writting this.

I still don't know what to say about the album. I'm perhaps the biggest Opeth fan on this forum, having been my favourite active band for many years, and being equally enthusiastic about both Oldpeth and Newpeth, but I'm finding this one kind of impenetrable so far.
Then you're not a real Opeth fan. ;) I love it.

At last, arrived at the same time as another one posted 8 days later!!!

I think it's their most consistent effort since Watershed. You might just want to take a break and come back to it in a few weeks.

Yes, that's precisely what I'm doing. I haven't listened to it in the last 5 days. Sometimes I can feel when it's more my fault, rather than the album's fault, when it's not clicking with me, and it's worked for me before to wait maybe a couple of weeks until I'm really looking forward to spinning it again.

Looks like Amazon.ca FINALLY has stock in for the Blu-ray edition. A little more than I would’ve liked to pay at $40 CAD but it’s Opeth. Haven’t heard the new album except for the singles, I’ve been waiting to get the Blu-ray for my first full listen.
