A can of this stuff would be my 1st attempt at restoration.
Real magic in a can.

I agree it's supposed to be good stuff. But since they are 5oz cans I would get more than one if it were me. I would still hose most everything down with WD40 first. (I don't know about the disc drawer mechanism...I've never been into one in an Oppo further than removing the lens cover and cleaning the laser lens.

Also another thing to check out, is the disc mechanism the same as other Oppo models? I've seen them pop up on EvilBay from time to time.

I know. I'm not going to take a crap shoot and repair it so I may as well try. I have some CRC QD Electronic Cleaner that is supposed to work miracles, but I haven't used it yet. May give it a shot tomorrow.
For over 50 years, I’ve used isopropyl alcohol to clean circuit boards. I take an acid brush (woodworkers’ glue brushes are identical) and cut off all but about 1/4” of the bristles. That gives them some stiffness so they’ll scrub the board. These days, I buy them by the bagful from Woodcraft.

With corrosion, I’d definitely go with the contact cleaner.
