I wonder why he is opposed to releasing physical discs of Dolby Atmos mixes. Universal? Management? It really seems silly to have vinyl and cds released of the same albums, but not the surround mixes on blu-ray.It would never happen, but it would be sweet if they created atmos/5.1 bluray discs for everyone who purchased the big-bucks "McCartney Archive Collection" versions of the matching album. They have the buyer info if the original purchaser applied for and downloaded the high resolution files that were available with the code that came in each release.
Even for a substantial fee, it would be a "nice" thing to do, and create an instant collectable.
Sadly, as I said, it ain't gonna happen
It's mainly the labels pushing the streaming mode, much cheaper and no unsold inventory risk.I wonder why he is opposed to releasing physical discs of Dolby Atmos mixes. Universal? Management?
