I made a sample of Money from that pink floyd recording it's kind of like the samples at Rhino records you know 2 tracks for 1 song Front- Rear Anyway it is available free for anybody who would like to give it a listen. You will need iTunes or windows media player to play it and it is the entire song not a 30sec. clip. Just give me an e mail address to send it to as an attachment don't worry I dont spam. Too bad you cant post music on this site.

No, not worth buying. Looks like a bootleg. Especially since we should be getting an "official" Quadraphonic version sometime for sale. Until then, there is the 5.1 SACD remix and a Quad DVD-A/DTS/DD of remarkable quality floating "out there."

I haven't heard the DSOTR version in a while, in at least several years, which is dog years in terms of what can be done in a homebrew setting. I remember liking it back then, at least. I agree that, if you have the Parsons version mentioned around here, or the SACD, there's really not a whole lot more searching that needs to be done.

Thanks OQG. I asked because of this article which you may find interesting. Alan Parsons even took part in this "listening" of DSOTM in Quad:

Hey quadaholics
I got this recording 4 channel discrete of pink Floyd DSOTM. It was mixed by Alan Parsons for the UK version. I am an audio engineer & I picked up a copy from another engineer / instructor at the school in Tempe AZ on a Hi-8 tape formatted for the tascam DA-88 tape machine back in 2000. I never gave it much thought since you can get this on SACD but after listening to both mixes I discovered the mix I got on the tape was much better & different than the SACD version so I think I got a real GEM but not sure. If one of you quadheads wants to help me figure out what mix/version I got I can send you a reel to reel version of this recording to check it out & let me know exactly what it is I have. Keep the reel I got plenty. It will be recorded @7.5ips tails out. I am in Seattle

What school did you attend in Tempe Az? Because I too attended a recording school in Tempe Az. It was the Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences. I received a copy of the Dark Side Quad mix as well. Very cool.

Yes that was it The Conservatory of recording arts and sciences I got my copy on a HI-8 tape made on a Tascam DA-88 I attended during 200 & 2001 I did my internship at Dark Horse recording in Franklin Tennesse
