If @rontoon is right about the layout of the disc contents (and I see no reason why he would not be) then I think it's pretty safe to assume that there will be no release of any of the studio 5.1 mixes (especially "A Momentary Lapse of Reason") outside of this gigantic box set.

When 5.1 mixes of multiple studio albums are grouped together on one (or two) Blu-ray Discs (like the recent Tangerine Dream box set) then that pretty much means it's a box set exclusive.

See, see!
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07WP7568V/?tag=imwan-21The boxset design is stunning and there seems to be a Blu-ray dedicated to surround and high res audio only. We get Pulse and DSOT restored and remixed, plus Venice and Knebworth. And unreleased material, documentaries, screen films and music videos.
Looks pretty much the real thing, but price at the moment (426£)! is crazy
Just for fun, I put it in my cart and went to checkout. My cost would be $441.47 shipped........um.....

If that (along with the vinyl discs) is all that's left out from the eventual separate sets, I won't be too sad if that's the case then. I managed to get a Blu-ray copy from The Division Bell box (separate from everything else) and I have the Endless River Blu-ray set already.

Between the Abbey Road box, the final King Crimson box and this (not to mention what else might be announced in the next several weeks), it'll be a tough Christmas on the wallet. Then again I am going to Vegas in a few months.

Right now, I can only picture the "Momentary Lapse of Reason" remix (CD), the remixed & restored "Delicate Sound of Thunder" (CD, Blu-Ray, and DVD) and the restored "PULSE" (Blu-Ray & DVD) being released outside of the box set at some point.
Almost everything else seems to be put together in such a way that it will be only in the box set.

When did this lineup of the band ever perform "Arnold Layne"? Or any Barrett song (other than "Astronomy Domine") Am I forgetting something?
The Syd Barret Tribute concert at the Barbicon. David, Nick and Rick (not billed as Pink Floyd). Roger performed as well but independently.

This makes the most sense, sadly.

As much as people on here complain about James Guthrie's 5.1 mixes, at least they are always offered as affordable multichannel SACDs (including the upcoming release of "Animals" through Acoustic Sounds.)
I don't think people like Nick Mason, David Gilmour, and Andy Jackson care enough about SACD to release "A Momentary Lapse of Reason" and "The Division Bell" on the format, but I would love to be wrong!

:)

Official announcement on Friday.
November 29th release date.

Is Snood only one thinking for 525 US dollars plus shipping.......that is all we get? 🤔

Barring a momentary lapse of reason, one slip of the finger at checkout, I think I'll be sitting this one out if the price is held firm lest I invite upon myself the sorrow of financial woe - at least, the thoughts of sorrow that go round and round my mind as if the dogs of war had been let loose at dawn upon hearing ancient, primordial signs of life whilst learning to fly a new machine on the turning away. The terminal frost has spoken!

The price is as crazy as the crazy ramblings you've just had the misfortune of rambling through!

Just think, Snood, for $525 [+ s/h] you could add two overhead ELAC speakers to your system to form 'the ATMOS Experience' and thus hear the overhead 'delicate sound of thunder' from a $15 UHD4K ATMOS remix of THE DOOR's Riders on the Storm and the overhead clattering of helicopters from the $18, 6 disc Native UHD4K remaster of Apocalyse Now. And Momma Snood will think she's experiencing Heaven on Earth!🌈

And you might even have a few bucks left over to whip up a frothy batch of banana daiquiris! :SB

Don‘t hurry here!
Pink floyd always made it possible to buy standalones! Perhaps it will offered on seperate discs this time!
