He definitely sounds a bit raspier here than in the NY show I saw that September (understandably, that's what happens when you do another month of three-hour shows), but to actually hear Nate Navarro's bass playing is kind of a revelation for me. The bass sounded like a big wall of mud from where I was sitting at Radio City.
Agree on the bass. I was at the Toronto show and the bass was horrible. It was cool to actually hear how good Nate played the intro to Harridan on the preview track because it did not sound that way at all hearing it live at the venue.

It seems blu ray 2 is only audio. It has no age rating

It's baffling and maddening how vague the descriptions are for these sets. On all of the blu-rays, and the DVD pictured above, I see the "all region", dts, dolby atmos, blu-ray, and dvd logos, and one more I'm not familiar with: ALL with NTSC in smaller print below it. If the second blu-ray in the deluxe set lacks any video but has multiple high end audio tracks, how do these differ from the sound included on the first blu-ray with the concert film? So, assuming the BD/DVD set has the same video for the whole show, in Atmos and DTS-HD MA according to the logos, how does it differ from the 2 BD's in the deluxe set? Does it make sense to offer an audio only BD in the deluxe set if the main concert audio is essentially the same? Buyer beware!

The logo with ALL and NTSC below is a DVD logo to indicate that the DVD is NTSC encoded and will play in all zones. It shouldn’t be on a blu-ray (1080p HD video is not NTSC). The honeycomb ABC logo shouldn’t be on the DVD: it is to indicate that a blu-ray will play in all regions (DVD has zones, blu-ray has regions)

My guess regarding the second, audio only, blu-ray is that it has exactly the same audio content that is on the blu-ray with the concert video, but with a higher bitrate allowed by the disc space freed by not having any video content.

Thanks - I guess that makes sense but it would be nice to get an accurate "official" explanation of the contents. I know that bitrate can be significant in compressed video playback, but I'm doubtful that given the massive amount of storage space on blu-ray the audio playback bitrate would be audibly impacted just because of the video. However, even if that is the case, apparently the BD/DVD set lacks "bonus material", so by the same argument audio should be better than what is on BD1 in the deluxe set. It all still seems screwy to me for what is likely less than a 2 hour concert film.

That would be a hoot - a new live DVD-A from PT.

I think someone who knows little to nothing about formats and codecs told someone else who knew less to just grab all the relevant logos you can find so we can stamp a bunch of them on these discs and look, you know, impressive.

The PT store has a slightly clearer description of the contents, but only slightly.

2X CD’S (FULL LIVE SHOW), 2 BLU-RAY DISCS BLU-RAY DISC 1 WILL BE FULL SHOW + BONUS FEATURES AND BLU-RAY DISC 2 WILL BE DOLBY ATMOS SURROUND SOUND AUDIO, 5.1 SURROUND SOUND AUDIO AND 24 BIT HIGH RESOLUTION AUDIO + 60 PAGE 12” SIZE BOOK HOUSED IN SLIPCASE.

My guess about the contents is that same as bgf1973's. I figure with the 2 blu-rays one is the convert video in the 3 formats and the other is a blu-ray audio. With the blu-ray and DVD, the probably both the concert film.

I got my order in first thing this morning. Glad I didn't wait. The deluxe edition was actually more that I was looking for. I wanted a blu-ray with 2 CDs, the extra blu-ray in an interesting bonus.

According to the images of the Blu-ray discs https://www.quadraphonicquad.com/forums/attachments/078b897c-fb9e-4908-a803-ecd879721294-png.98066/

Both the video Blu-ray and the audio only Blu-ray have Atmos.

So I just ordered the four CD set...I think I like that option better since there are two Blu-rays one with just the audio (with Atmos) and the other a video of the concert (with Atmos.)

The one with just the two discs though being much less expensive (and sold out) has one Blu-ray and one DVD with the Blu-ray version that has an Atmos soundtrack. I like the idea with the four CD set with one of the two Blu-rays containing just the audio.

It's not clear if the Blu-ray containing the video has different audio options. We know it has Atoms (I assume 7.1.4,) but is there also a 5.1 with a separate high resolution stereo mix? I'm guessing for the video Blu-ray it's Atmos and 5.1 which is fine.

At least the audio only Blu-ray does include those different options (Atmos, 5.1 and high resolution stereo.)

Cool!

I got the e-mail about this first thing this morning and the relatively affordable (but still expensive in AUD) blu-ray was already sold out. What gives? :-( I hope it is an error.

Yea that's weird, your like 16 hours ahead of me and so it seems like that wound't have happened.

I've done the math. With shipping to Germany, the deluxe set from the PT store is outrageously expensive - over €80 for four discs. That's a clear no from me.

Edit: Burning Shed was showing as unavailable to me when I made this post. Now it's back and comes in at €70 without insurance. With insurance, it's almost as expensive as from the PT Store.

Thanks for the heads up and link to this release. I just placed my $25 pre-order for the Blu ray/DVD version of this and can't wait for the release! Soo many physical formats to choose from (thank God I don't collect different formats anymore!) but this beats the alternative, right?!

Between BS and the PT store, BS was around $5 lower. That's almost 20%?

I had to give up tracking, but have also never had an order from BS go missing.

So... BS, it is!

For the BD/DVD set.
I had an order from BS go missing, and I was out of luck because I hadn't paid extra for tracking or insurance or whatever they call(ed) it. Because of that experience and their shipping rates, I've never used them again.
