Is there any evidence of a partial quad mix of an album (maybe just 1 side worth of songs) [that Rhino has access to]?

I am a little surprised there are not more rock fans asking for the James Gang Miami album considering Tommy Bolin's involvement. He wrote or co-wrote all of the songs, and was the band's guitarist at the time. I listened to it today for the first time in a long while and enjoyed it.

I'd buy it! Plenty of interesting titles in this thread that I'd buy, but somehow I figure my +1 posts ain't gonna make the decision for those making the decisions. I just gotta keep my fingers crossed for more nifty rock titles, but there are others outside of that realm that I'd be into as well.

Here's that whole CD-4 insert for those interested. I posted it in hirez a few years ago

You Facebook guys...............if you're going to lift shit from QQ, stuff that I posted here for the membership in your little Facebook deal, would it kill you to credit the freaking forum??

This stuff happens a lot and for some reason it really pisses me off..........:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Am I the only one here that would enjoy Devo in 4.0 or 5.1? I would guess there is no "old" quad of anything by them but since we are speculating....
I think the first album was on the list as a DVD-A that was allegedly going to be released, but it never happened. Or maybe it was the third album and I just *wish* it had been the first.

One of the compilations of early, previously-unreleased stuff and rarities shows tape boxes in the booklet, at least one of which is very clearly labelled "QUAD" but I have no idea if that means what we want it to mean.

Re DEVO ,;

If I remember correctly, someone suggested it would be the.....
' Live In Hollywood ' Concert.
In any event , a DEVO album of sorts was being persued by the
SQ Tate lads , aka Reber Ruggles Associates . This would have been sometime in the early 80's.

There was something about a Stanley Clarke album , having quad sessions , but a quad master does not exist.
i think that may be "School Days", fizzy?

Ken Scott talked about that one being planned as a Quad release that got scrapped by the label at the last minute and so he mixed down the Quad for Stereo release only instead.

i have to say, it would have been a late entry in 1976. not totally beyond the realms of possibility but especially late in the day for an Atlantic label Quad.. i dunno, just feels unlikely.. but Ken Scott should know best! 😅

Thanks Freddie-at-the-ready,😊

Nice to know someone's on the ball . Ken Scott hmmm.....from Bowie to Clarke .
That Stanley Clarke Nemporer/Atlantic would've made for a great quad selection , i think anyway.
I wonder if any other planned WEA quads in your backyard were kiboshed apart from those in 1976 Europe ...Deaf School , Absolute Elsewhere or even a 2nd quad Passport disc?

Many MANY apologies!! In my rush to post, I neglected the credit. It's totally on me. I've corrected the post with credit and a link to this board. I try to always credit when possible. Please accept my apology. 😢

@fredblue
Further to that Stanley Clarke quad possibility..this is the response I got when I asked @ForagingRhino ;

Stanley Clarke - any ?
That is an easy one:

Personnel[edit]

I came across an entry for what appears to be the DVD-A with a release date of 04-13-2004 so I would imagine it was completed but not sure. There were rumors of a Steven Wilson Dolby Atmos mix as well. I'd love to hear all The Cars albums in surround so I hope it happens some day.

The Cars in Surround would be totally rad...does anybody know why it never got released? Was it just done nearing the death of the DVD-A?

Had to reverse the order of the above to quote without doing a bunch of fooling around in the editor but see my post from yesterday in another thread.

That was you??? :)

It's cool. You know I'm just an "angry old boomer" who gets set off by the strangest things. You are of course forgiven, and sorry I was a bit harsh. I like to keep everything in the family and you are certainly family to me - most everyone here is.

So............NEVERMIND!!

....and family is allowed to lash out at each other when it's deserved. 🙂 Thank you.

Would folks be up in arms about a "Chicago Greatest Hits" Quadio release? I haven't asked ForagingRhino about this, and have no clue as to if Rhino has even thought about it, but I was thinking the other day as I was listening to some Chicago II that it's such a shame so many folks missed out on the box set, and I know there is a possibility it might get repressed, but a single disc Quadio GH, maybe modified to include the album tracks instead of the single tracks, might be a good release for everyone who missed out on the box.

Good idea? Or would that start a large round of complaining about "releasing the same stuff over and over"?
