Hello. Apparantly release delay of the Blu-Ray to May is due to a Best Buy exclusive, which has the April 5th slot. And the Blu-Ray set is listed for pre-order at BB for $19.99. The shipping costs will make it come pretty close to the Amazon price (with the free shipping), so I won't change stations at this time. However, I probably will visit my local BB on April 5th for a look-see. Thanks.

Best Buy also has the exclusive on the Billy Joel Live At Shea Blu Ray - but it's unavailable at the Best Buy near me (or any other BB in CT AFAIK)@::mad:@::mad:@:

Interesting, thanks for the tip. The Best Buys around me are staffed with morons, so I try to avoid them... but in this case I will likely make an exception. I will keep my pre-order in place as it is highly likely that they won't be able to find the disc I'm looking for.

Thanks. I've ordered the DVD-A but if BB has the blu ray in stock I may just pick it up. I wonder if it will be packaged with a BB extra.

I'll take a look too. But sticking with the dvd-audio (if that's what it really is).

I wonder if the blu-ray version has the video content with lossless audio. If so then I'd prefer blu-ray.

It looks like Best Buy will let you buy stuff online then pick it up in store. Assuming I can do that and I then get a confirmation e-mail stating it's ready to pick up I will do that, how badly could they fuck that up?

In the glory days of DVD-A and sacd I was at grad school in Ann Arbor, MI and the Best Buy there was so much nicer. The thought of going into one of the ones around here makes me cringe, I wish whoever is responsible would cut out this exclusive crap so I could just get in on the release date from MY choice of vendors.

Is the version that Best Buy has at 17.99 the DVD-A version? It doesn't really show what the difference is between the two on their website.

Yes, correct on the pictures. I didn't notice that!

Pretty easily. The Utah stores won't actually reserve the items and the customer service people will go get the product off the shelf when you arrive to pick it up, assuming they have any left.... and usually for the type of stuff I buy they don't. I no longer use the pick it up in store option.

Looks like I need to cancel my Amazon order for the CD+DVD-Audio version, since Best Buy appears to be stocking both versions, and for less money. Watch me get screwed on this though. I wish they had free shipping on it, then I'd just order it for delivery. Still might though, if the stores don't actually get them in. $1.69 per item shipping, plus tax, still beats Amazon.

At these prices I'll buy both and compare them.

I see that for Amazon.ca has the cd\dvd is now available for 17.99.

Well, that certainly adds more confusion. The ASIN is B004S0GJZS and it does not come up at Amazon.com or the UK site. The other MP listing on Amazon.ca is ASIN B004MOMT2M and it does come up at the other Amazon sites. Futhermore, according to Amazon, ASIN B004MOMT2M is a Mecury release and ASIN B004S0GJZS is Universal. I'm sending a query to Amazon.ca asking for clarification but I'm not holding my breath.

If Amazon did lower their price, it means those of us who preordered will get charged less so no need to cancel and run to BB. When I preordered Crossroads on blu, Amazon lowered the price to 16.99 when they shipped it to me, and I was only charged that amount, not what I had originally paid. I hope this will be repeated here.

I called Amazon.ca and the rep there could not validate the $17.99 listing (ASIN B004S0GJZS). At this point he thinks it's an error and recommended that I stick with my original order (ASIN B004MOMT2M).

Looks like Amazon.ca finally has the proper cd\bluray listed with the same ASIN as amazon.com:

http://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B004MNVKVO/ref=ord_cart_shr?ie=UTF8&m=A3DWYIK6Y9EEQB

Now the question is to order the sure bet for a lossless surround(the Bluray) or order the cd\dvd and hope it does in fact have a dvd audio layer.

Best Buy is now offering free shipping on the Blu-ray version, but not the DVD version.
