QL would love to buy any or all Santana or Azteca Quad SACD's. I have them all on SQ and most of them on Q8.

Musically, Illuminations is just OK. All the rest are nothing short of spectacular. I already upgraded it, Lotus (2ch SACD & Japan multichannel SACD) and Santana/Buddy Miles to Quad SACD's.

Mixes are generally spectacular, as well. Amigos and Festival are non-starters mix wise. Their music is excellent.

Awesome album! Would love a SACD of that... Although @Quad Linda might be 50/50 by the second track?! 🤷‍♀️

In commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the release of Santana's masterpiece first album "Santana", an SA-CD multi-hybrid version containing an extremely rare "4ch surround mix" has been released!
2020.08.20
RELEASE

In commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the release of Santana's memorable debut album "Santana" that was released overseas in 1969 and in Japan in 1970, this "SA-CD multi-hybrid edition" will be the world's first appearance. Has been decided to be released on Wednesday, September 23. Sold by Sony Music Japan International.

Santana, who has been active in the San Francisco area since 1966 as a "Santa Anna Blues Band" and was an unknown band outside the West Coast, shocked the United States with a tremendous performance that the audience unveiled at that Woodstock Festival It was given on August 16, 1969. Two weeks after that excitement, the debut album "Santana" was released on August 30, and ran up the charts and hit the 4th largest hit in the US, becoming a worldwide popular band.
The 4ch surround mix = quadraphonic version appeared in 1974, five years after the release of this original version. Quadraphonic began production overseas in 1972, and other titles of Santana and works such as Jeff Beck and Miles Davis were selected and released in Japan, but this work remains in Japan It is known as a rare board among fans because it finished producing the phonic itself.

This time, the original 4ch mix master sound source was subjected to DSD mastering at Sony Music Studio in Japan for the first time in the world, and it will be released as a hybrid disc that can play both SA-CD 2ch and CD. The CD layer is the latest remastered board that directly converts the SA-CD 2ch master to PCM.
Latin and Afro rhythms are used in all directions, and the wild, early Santana sound that opens up a new horizon for rock approaches with a powerful presence as if it is playing around the listener, a different dimension. 4ch surround mix that invites you to experience a soundscape. The package is also a 7-inch paper jacket specification that is a finely resized US version Quadraphonic LP, an advertisement of the Japanese version analog single jacket cut from this work and the album release announcement published in overseas magazines in 1969. The design poster is included.
Following the "Lotus Legend Complete Edition-HYBRID 4.0-", which was released in 2017 and recorded exceptionally good sales for the SA-CD hybrid disc, it is inevitable to become a super special edition of the world's Santana fans.

I just ordered from CDJapan. Huge album for me. San Francisco really came alive from this Santana album, between this album and the Godfather movies an entire vibe was changed. The gritty glory days of all big City's in the USA.
I bundled some stuff with my order 2 Stones, 1 Grand Funk Greatest Hits and two MQA discs, I just want to try them, a pop/rock sampler and Stevie Wonder Greatest Hits.

Just placed order with CDJapan for 2 copies....with DHL delivery came to just over $102 US.....can't wait.....OMG this is going to be a very costly season!!!! Anyone need a LOANSHARK? LMAO :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :SB:SB:bowing::bowing:
