Yeah, I knew the price....I just like dealing with US vendors when I can. Anyway, I panicked and went ahead with CDJapan. Total to my door is $56.97 I had a couple hundred points that dropped price a couple bucks. I chose DHL.

This is a major "Woo-Hoo". I decided to go all-in on CDJapan, as I have had excellent service from them in the past and they always ship in very secure, safe packaging, so I went the extra bucks for FedEx Express, mostly because the Santana is such an awesome title and the other methods are somehow not available right now(?)....

I got a reply from Amazon jp, in brief, we must wait for release date to order from abroad. The reason I like Amazon over cdjapan is because they pay custom taxes in advance and saves you the hassle locally.

I've been vascillating about ordering this one. No, not about buying it! About where to get it and which shipping method to insure that I receive it on a timely basis. I've had a hellish time receiving SACD's shipped USPS lately. I'll be sure not to vote by mail! Still waiting for a Johnny Cash SACD I ordered 4 week ago today. Order confirmation says it was shipped the following Monday, which I thoroughly believe. From 30 miles away!!

As mentioned earlier in this thread, SQ came out 5 years after the 2ch. Abraxas & III were released when Quad was intoduced. Every other Santana Quad came out within a couple weeks after it's 2ch release. I bought all his Quads the day they hit the street on SQ or Q8.

In fall of '69, I was in Korvettes and heard Santana (I). I HAD to buy it there and then. I've been a hard core fan ever since. It is the only Quad of theirs that I first bought in 2ch.

I've owned this one on LP (x2), SQ (x2), CD, expanded CD, 2 CD expanded & 2ch MoFi SACD. I also have the original LP cover framed.

I was crazy about the music and love the mix just as much. The only musical artist(s) I've seen/heard more than Santana live is the Chicago Symphony. I was a season subscriber under both Solti & Barenboim.

I'm pumped for the Quad SACD!!

QL.....I've never had a problem ordering from CDJapan and them shipping DHL.....the price is even right.....I'd suggest this to be the best option.

As I mentioned, I chose CDjapan, with DHL. Never used DHL, are there any watchouts? Like, will they drop off like Amazon does....or do they require a human to sign and or receive the package?

They have tracking and require signature....it says so even in CDJapan's shipping explainations

I registered on-line with DHL so usually get an email saying it will be delivered and you owe xxx, I then select a safe area to leave it in, the Front Porch. In the UK they won't deliver until the tax and tax grab fee is paid anyway!

If you are worried about DHL, once it is on this side of the ocean you can probably intercept the delivery and pick it up locally at your leisure.

Yeah, I'm kinda in the same boat here, don't want to have to sign for it (I may have my surround music cranked up just at the right blazing volume to excite) and miss the delivery! But, also don't want this thing to get sold out and miss out.
And I intend on delivering my vote to a local voting poll drop personally, the USPS may be hosed up!

It's not that I'm worried about DHL, it's that I'm often gone a LOT and I want to be able to ensure this thing won't get shipped back to Japan because no one is home.

I find that STRANGE.......Cesar! I pre-ordered Alanis Morresetes new limited box set "Such Pretty Forks In The Road" from Amazon Japan.....without a problem....it was even cheaper from them than Amazon UK

Thanks to all for the heads up on this one! Ordered ($61.82 USD), also used DHL for shipping. I've used them in the past with CDJapan orders and they did require signing.

You can sign up at dhl site n have them email you when you get packages from them to sign for and digitally sign for them, like I do.

Hmmm, tried also for an Amazon.co.jp order and it says can't deliver to this address on the right, maybe that will change when it gets closer to the release date (maybe... anyone???)
