Box of brilliant things...

While I have yet to receive my copy (probably in the next couple of days), I had the following item in my inbox this morning:

Hi,

Thanks for buying Sparkle in the Rain from us.

We have been made aware of a fault on both the DVD in this box set and the standalone Blu-Ray disc. New discs are being made by Universal now.

We will automatically send you a replacement DVD or Blu-Ray disc as appropriate when we get them. You do not need to return anything or ask us - it will all just happen.

Obviously it can take a while for the new discs to be manufactured so please bear with us until we can send yours out.

Kind regards

So they are aware of the issues and appear to be on it.

Haven't played the stereo yet, but I'm finding the vocals on the 5.1 PCM on BluRay to be a little "distant" as in not quite high enough and very wet with reverb. Anyone else finding this?

I got back last night to find it waiting for me, and I'd agree that the 5.1 vocals are a little distant, and the stereo vocals over bearing with not a lot else! I'd bought mine from amazon so I'll have to email to find out what is going to happen.

Just tried the stereo track (on the BD) and yes, it's royally screwed up. Everything is collapsed into the centre channel with nothing in Left or Right.

... And I thought nothing could sound worse than the muddled original Steve Lillywhite mix - silly me

Is this on a 4.0 or 5.1 spkr setup?
