I heard on another site that Walmart has purchased Visio with the intention of forcing ads onto the screens.

Not sure if it’s one of those “fake news” bits, but it’s not something I would put past them.
I read that Walmart bought Vizio because they wanted their operating system.

I can’t think of a quicker way for a brand to go out of business. I just bought their high-end quantum pro TV and if that was the case, I would take it back.

Malware infused (adware, etc) "smart TVs" (ie. factory second display monitors that can't pass the latency spec and with a TV receiver board installed) are apparently widespread. People apparently just buy these and just watch ads like how there were commercials on TV decades ago and think it's normal. Mind blowing but here we are!

I'd think that would be a fast track to out of business too but apparently more customers roll over than return defective products. If people held products to any standard, Amazon wouldn't exist anymore, right?

Yeah, return stuff like that!!

We have had and are having some rather strong winds down here on the coast of SW England (I'm about 500m from the sea). This morning I saw that the all weather frame & cover for my Vegetable Trugg raised bed had come almost off, I could see the bent metal tubing entwined with the cover, when I looked out a few minutes later it was no where to be seen! not even in the neighbours gardens!!

I can send you some hurricanes, Duncan. Hee hee.

speaking of breaking wind. Wednesday night about 7 PM. 25 degrees. 7 ish inches of snow on ground, First was the freezing rain. The wind picked up. Then the thunder and lightening hit ( thunder snow ). It began snowing. The wind picked up. Then it REALLY picked up ! Sideways snow at 65 MPH. Just down the road was a 74 MPH gust. Pure Michigan

Sorry to hear that Ricky. Couldn't live there. Was a pleasant early 40's here this morning. :)

A whole hellll a lot of assumptions there about people, bud. Some I suspect correct. But all of us aren't fools that roll over when we get f'd.

but Boonie - some of this weather schiit I get to see and experience is freaking amazing. If you like weather thrills, come to West Michigan
(I realize this is not W Michigan, preamble to a joke)
Why do you think it took him 3 days to hitch hike through Saginaw? Probably didn't even tour the old factory where they made tranny's either. (for you young folks: tranny's are car/truck transmissions)

Thanks. I knew there had to be one other Country guy on here.
Country and Prog lover. Whodathought it? lol. But that's me. Hank.....?
Like you, I am a lover of many genres, including country.

Here is one of my all-time favorite albums - The The covering Hank Williams songs along with the original tracks by Hank Sr.: https://www.discogs.com/release/528185-The-The-Hank-Williams-Sr-The-The-Vs-Hank

It is incredible what a great job The The does with the songs in terms of interpretation and production. Then you hear the original versions by Hank and love the simplicity and genuine heartache. Masterful album.

This is the version of the album called “Hanky Panky” without the tracks by Hank: https://www.discogs.com/master/20979-The-The-Hanky-Panky

Sounds worse than Oscoda (on the east coast of Michigan), and I didn’t think that was possible.
