Yes you have to keep those cast iron pans seasoned.

I have one of those “genuine Chinese hand-hammered woks” that they were selling in infomercials back in the 80s or 90s. It’s iron, and getting the seasoning right was a bit tricky, but it’s been pretty easy to care for for ages.

yeah, after living in the mountains most of our lives.. we do take for granted sometimes. We do run around outside a lot, mostly when it's not below zero outside though. This is the back porch. A smoke filled forest fire day. A lot of lightning strikes over the years
