I have owned 3 different Oppo’s but as of today I only have kept the UDP-205 and it is my main player for surround sound music and 4K and Blu-ray movies. So far it keeps ticking on!

?I missed the whole Oppo experience, but was lucky enough to find a mint BDP-105D on Ebay, with a starting bid under $100.
I knew what I was willing to spend, so made that my high bid, with an opening bid of $150. Never watched the bidding and found out I won with less than my max. Probably bidding against members here.....
I know Iam under using its capabilities, but it does plug into my 9001 to play Quadios

150 was my jump in bid, with 700 as my max. I paid 677 with shipping.
I believe the sold price was $605
Someone on EvilBay is listing a 103 as being "4K" capable. lol.
I used to own a BDP-83 but I gifted it to my granddaughter, so it’s all more than good. I own a 103D which I use almost exclusively for ripping SACDs(on a rare occasion my wife invites a friend over to watch a Blu Ray taken out of the local library). I otherwise enjoy playing back my .iso and FLAC music collection and watching ripped movies(Blu Ray and UHD) through my ChinOPPO 203(essentially, a 203 without a disc drawer). Sometimes I wish that I had purchased an OPPO 203 when they were originally available at MSRP but, being realistic, it would not have affected how I enjoy my audio and video media.
Thankfully, DVDFab’s UHD ripping capabilities have spared me from having to buy a 4K UHD player. It does a nice job with HDR and Dolby Vision content and it also does a decent job with 4K upscaling of Blu Ray content and, theoretically, upscaling SDR to HDR(I say theoretically because my slowly growing UHD collection is all in native HDR).

I’m extremely happy with it but their communication and efficiency with shipping it out to me was less than stellar. It ended up taking a few months from order to delivery and I had to email them a couple of times in between to get things moving.
Yeah I don't think there's any available anywhere now....at least for a reasonable price.
I saw one listed recently on a canadian site for $1600 Can. Jeez Louise.
Serious bummer. I guess I got really lucky.

I'm currently in Guangzhou China where my wife is from. Guangzhou is also the home of the Oppo. There are a number of 2nd hand shops here that have Oppo players. I may pick up another if the price is right. Guangzhou is a paradise for electronics, their speakers are also amazing and I always enjoy sitting in the Hifi lounges getting the shop guys to play the bizarre foreign music I have on their systems. Playing Jimi Hendrix at full volume raised a few eyebrows and possibly caused a few traumatised sales guys to freak out.
That's more reasonable. Still a good deal I believe.
One 203 and I’m really happy with it and glad I got it just a couple of months before they stopped making OPPO’s. Does everything I want it to do. Highly recommend it too.

Oppo still services their players in the US. The 83 can be brought back to life.
I don’t remember the first Oppo I owned - it played DVDs and earlier. No Internet connection.

They do a fixed rate repair on the players, depending on the model. It doesn't matter what the problem is. The one I sent in had a bad power supply, and they took care of it, plus shipped it back, for about $120. The best part is that it's now working perfectly. I couldn't have asked for better service from them.
I had the old 970HD in a few years ago, it was skipping bad.
Besides shipping to them, I think I was charged something like $49 ish and they had it out the same day it came in.
But yeah the price is based on the model.
I recently reached out to them via email on the 103 and they got back to me pretty quick. Turned out it was "operator error" lol. I had reset to defaults and forgot to turn the DSD output back on.

I love my 203. Bought it about a year before they went out of the business.
The owner experience has been wonderful, but it started with the out of box experience. I still have the fabric Oppo tote bag that they wrapped the unit in instead of plastic - classy move, and a nice brand reinforcement.
