This all started as an idea to help QQ Aussie members (and Kiwi brothers) get their hands on a great pre-built, pre-configured Media Player all ready run. You just use you Media Files.

I was not surprised QQers around the world would show interest, but Iwas surprised my the number that registered their interest to buy one if we could find a members to build outside AU.

Needless, to say I've had interest in AU and now my AU Intel NUCs are almost taken, its is time to create a specific thread for AU/NZ buyers. The offer is still open.

A continuation from this Round 1 post (with all the details of the special offer):
https://www.quadraphonicquad.com/fo...dia-player-round-1-closed-round-2-open.37137/

Any AU/NZ member here interested in a 'QQ Edition Kodi Media Player' (preconfigured Intel NUC + software and Bluetooth remote control) (see other thread) please post here.

I have just purchased 8 NUCs for round one buyers, now it’s time to think about proving a place us here downunder. There are limited supplies of Intel NUCs, so be quick.

Please post interest on this thread. I am selling these at cost plus expenses for local members. I am building these here in MEL.

The current price for AU residents: Will be around to $250 (no GST is payable) + shipping from MEL

(I need to work out costs, The NUCs have ben purchased from multiple sellers, so the cost is averaged across all systems resold)

See linked thread (above) for details: 2nd hand Intel NUC, new 500GB NVME SSD + new power supply + new Bluetooth Remote Control + Linux (LibreElec) Kodi Media Players s/w preconfigured + thousands of Artist fanart images and associated biographies. logos etc

There is a limited number of 2nd hand refurbished Intel NUCs worldwide, these will be gone soon. There may not be a Round 2 here in AU/NZ

Round One Confirmed Buyers:
@Driver Vic
@Nick Trewhella
@watsontr
@Scott65
@gmgmgm
@Nannup
@woody

I'll keep this updated, if you don't see your name here PM me. I think I got everyone that's contacted me...

Currently I have only BEH (tall) models. If enough interest I may be able to nab some BEK (slim) cases

I've purchased almost all hardware already to build 8 complete systems and will call for deposits soon. (all payments via Paypal)

Anyone in MEL welcome to pick up, get a personal lesson on use, while we listen to Atmos in 7.1.4 (the bar fridge is stocked) :)

As with US order the Remote Controls will be the hold up for shipping, but 6 NUCs are still in shipment from US (somewhere between US and MEL, arriving soon)

Prospective buyers can cancel up to shipping date, full refund if you do.

Any questions , please post here.

Once the deposits are paid, join the 'QQ NUC Club' thread here on QQ for updates and general chatter, you are welcome to hang around there at any time to discover what'sgoing on)

THX
Garry

Great stuff, Garry!
Although suffering brain fogthanks to the meds taken for various physical ailments, I'm looking forward to having NUC fun!
I have built several PC's over the years, my first was a 386 beast that ran MS Dos. My last was last year, powered by a Ryzen 5 processor, 32Gb ram and running Windows 11 (I admit to having to beg for help with attaching a few hard-to-reach-for-me wires to pins on the motherboard. I'm pretty sure it will be my last attempt at PC builds. I started to use Kodi when it was known as XBMC... it has changed a fair bit since 2008!

My a/v collection is stored on a couple of Nas devices which are currently connected to my PC. This is in turn connected to my AV receiver via HDMI. Because of space constraints, all this is in my Lounge area and connected to my 55" TV.

I know my audio collection is ridiculously large (about 3.5Tb and growing), but somewhere along the way my overwhelming love of music morphed into an obsession with collecting it - I know people here have several versions of the same album!

Since retiring I find that listening to my digital library provides me with a fantastic way to spend the daylight hours (health keeps me at home a lot).

Along with collecting music, I spend time ripping and tagging everything - something that is easier now tthanks to Garry's MMH, albums, concerts etc. are kept under control!

As I said, I look forward getting a new toy up and running; it will be great to consume my media without having to put up with the ocassional farts and burps 'background' Windows processes insist on inflicting on me!

Great to help you out with the NUC!

You can easily set you NUC to access your NASs, via your home network (Wi-Fi if your Wi-Fi router is reasonably close, otherwise Ethernet to a network cheap switch)

Sounds like your collection is in good shape, great tagging etc. Once you know what's required it adds almost no time to tag correctly, after your ripping (ripping is > 95% of the time, tagging is almost free in comparison as you must know).

You're not the only one here that has the collection obsession :) Steven Wilson even wrote a song about it :) Music lovers have been doing it for decades. Back when BDA first came out I ran out and plonked a fortune on the massive Neil Young stereo box set. I knew my wife would approve, she's was a huge fan from day one.

(Now she calls me Nuckie...) :)

I can get one for you for sure.

I have one allocated to by eldest daughter you can have if if you're in a hurry, otherwise I was planning to buy a few more and that will take longer, maybe 3 weeks away.

She's' not in a hurry and said she's happy to wait, so its no problem there.

Actually, Nick PMed to say he couldn't pick his up until late March and could I hold his NUC until he got back. So there's two potentially there. I just need to order some more asap.

In any case you are on the list!
