Wasn't the first CSN album one of those titles that Warners announced as "coming soon" but then never got released? Maybe there's a 5.1 sitting in a vault somewhere?

I believe it was THAT and Deja Vu that were announced as upcoming DVD~A 5.1 titles but were never released.......the conundrum being....were they actually remixed in the first place along with so many other pre~announced titles....and then canceled.......along with the Cars, Madonna's Greatest Hits, Frank Sinatra (2 titles), etc.

Back in the '00's, Graham Nash had a forum that he visited and participated in. I remember that he was asked about the 5.1 for Deja Vu and he replied that he was going to get started on that 5.1 remix "soon". I don't think he ever got that far.

From my recollection of those early days of DVD~A, a lot of those "pre~announced" titles sat there for a couple of years (just like MoFi/AP sit on their pre~releases) and ONLY occasionally would they actually ever get released as DVD~As. There were probably 20~30 VERY choice titles that were "pre~announced" and NEVER saw the light of day.

IMO, not much has changed since and I do recall, as well, that some of those titles did trickle out under the Rhino/Warner banner as DVD~A/RBCD sets to make them more attractive to potential buyers (for compatibility purposes).

Uppermost 5.1 WEA titles mixed and withdrawn on my request for AF would be,

THE CARS-THE CARS
and
FLEETWOOD MAC-FLEETWOOD MAC (75)

back when they were announced, so were MOONDANCE and TUSK, so there is always hope I figure.I never thought I'd see the day that The Mac and Van would ever be released, in fact, with Moondance, when Van took to the fan net to try and stop it's release, I thought for sure we'd never see it.And until it was made available, I did not believe it was EVER going to happen.

I'll take anything from The Mac and The Cars...even though it's not surround I've been waiting on this one for awhile..

"The Cars" definitely won't happen because of the upcoming Mobile Fidelity SACD (stereo-only of course…) plus I also have a very strong feeling that we'll eventually get a release of the "Fleetwood Mac" 5.1 mix in a similar box set like the recent ones for "Tusk" and "Rumours".

Regarding the Fleetwood Mac....if it were a box again...like Tusk.....I'd buy it too. :)

I'm almost certain The Cars-Heartbeat City was issued in Dolby surround 2ch back when they issued the doc and music tape on WEA .

Wonder if it will ever come out on Blu-ray or dvd.But ideally a 5.1 should come from Warner......of the entire album.

The Cars need the "treatment"........whole catalogue in surround.:D

Yes, the possibility of a 2nd Fleetwood Mac box is possible, and that Mac disc/box I won't hesitate to purchase, if and when it's up for pre-order, regardless of the black grooved frisbee attachment.(y)

Yep...if THIS is ever released

It doesn't matter how long it takes. MOFI currently has the stranglehold on that album, and once it is actually released, it will eat up the demand for that album on SACD from stereo SACD buyers, so that gives AF even less of an incentive to release it themselves anyway.
Of course, none of this would even be an issue if MOFI would just embrace surround already! (Stubborn, arrogant, stereo-only *******s…)

I'm curious...if you don't know maybe Brian will tell us...how long is the licensing period...I ask because some of these MoFi titles have been "upcoming" for 2 years...there has to be a time frame involved...

I must have missed that. When was a 5.1 mix of Rumours offered in a box?

Well, yea, I got tired of waiting for that and went with the 24/192 download although I'd probably buy the SACD anyway if it ever comes out. I was just playing that yesterday when my music server pc died (power supply)... so now I'm back to physical disks only, for awhile.

I'd like to see Chicago Transit Authority get rereleased. The DVD seemed to sell out pretty quickly (I didn't get in on time) and SACD should scratch some hi(gher) rez itches to get some people to double dip.

If not, then I would like to see someone who really knows their sound stuff and EQ. Take that quad DVD and re-record it at 24/96 and do a bit of high-res remastering, and then print it to DVD-A. I just think it needs re-EQ'd, but that's just me I'm sure.

That title's also out of the question for now cause of the recent stereo-only SACD release: http://hraudio.net/showmusic.php?title=10452
(MOFI strikes again! *******s…)
