Wondering if anyone here has any recommendations on the recent batch of Dutton Vocalion classical quad SACDS plus the selections that were marked 20% off.
I know the sound quality will be good.

Thank you Soundfield for your quick response. Very interesting. I saw the vinyl release was selling for $499.98 on Acoustic Sounds. Like a Hot Pocket, it took my breath away. LOL. I was praying that Deutsche Grammophone might have some future plans.DG & Emil Berliner Studios Original Source projects are entirely centred on remastering for stereo vinyl releases. There won't be any quad versions as a result of this work.
Today I stumbled upon a video from Deutsche Grammophone: Remastering Karajan's Bruckner with Rainer Maillard and Sidney Claire Meyer. They got my attention when they said that a Quad mix was made (but not released) with the idea the technology would eventually improve...
Looking at Discogs, I don't see a quad mix available. But there is a Blu-ray with stereo mix. I also see a 192/24 FLAC on HD tracks for symphonies 4-9 only (again, two channel).

Any idea when a multichannel of Karajan's Bruckner Symphonies might be released? Thanking you in advance for supporting my multichannel addiction.![]()

I remember someone telling me that if you upsample from a lower resolution, nothing improves. You just take up more space with a lower resolution. No thrills here for the first three symphonies. LOL.Not to mention Rusty, Bruckner's Symphonies Nos 1~3 were originally recorded DDD [16b/44.1kHz] and were 'upsampled' to 24/192 for this Pure Audio BD~A release:

What do you think of your new addition? I guess that's the next question, "Who conducted the best version of Bruckner's Symphonies?"Speaking of Bruckner, this multi-channel SACD just arrived in the mail today. I’m listening right now. View attachment 113502
Haitink (obviously), closely followed by Gunter Wand (whose incredibly moving last concert in London I was lucky enough to attend) and Barenboim. What do you think of your new addition? I guess that's the next question, "Who conducted the best version of Bruckner's Symphonies?"
