Yes, that is a picture of my record collection I took about ten years ago. I’ve lost count, but there are around 1300 LPs on those shelves. Since then, I have moved across the US and built a new theater in my new home. If you click on my signature (Barfle’s bonus room bijou) below, there’s a lot of details on how I built it and what’s in the room.
Took just a glimpse. It's nothing short of fabulous! So good you took the pictures and wrote about it. I will certainly revisit it when I have more time for serious reading.

BTW, this forum is a revelation. the more I'm here, the more I like it. I just can't refrain from voting, such a great feature!

Some of the thread is bragging, I must confess, but if anyone is starting their own room, it’s also a way to learn from my own experiences. I’m glad you like it, but as I’ve noted several times, it will be finished when they carry me out. I’ll be working on it for as long as I’m alive (30 years if I’m lucky).

I expect to start working on the end tables for the love-seat second row this month, and since my new oscilloscope arrived yesterday, I hope to get some of that old gear up and running this year, too.

I've been collecting adult records since I was three. Before I was 10, I realized that I'll never be done. I'll be 70 next year.

Ditto for my systems. They are all works in progress. Whether collecting discs, downloads, gear, boats, homes, cars, etc., someone always has bigger and/or better.

Not trying to compete, nor I suppose are you. Just trying to quench my thirst for great music, surround mixes and sound reproduction. And my endless curiosity...

My father also started at three, when my grandparents gave him his first record player, tiny Supraphon with tubes. From Disney audiobooks to serious listening, from portable cassette player via his first stereo radio recorder... Always listening to music, discovering new emotions and aural landscapes.
Music is indeed a first and foremost art.

Hi, everyone. I have been a multichannel enthusiast for a long, long time, and have a number of CDs, SACDs, and Blu-ray concerts (both classical and contemporary). My primary audio system consists of an OPPO 203 and a Roon Nucleus+ as sources, a Theta Casablanca V multichannel preamp/processor, McIntosh MC611 mono power amps driving my L/C/R speakers and Krell FPB 200c power amps for the sides and rears, SVS SB-16 Ultra subwoofers for my front L&R, and two SVS Micro 3000s for the rear corners. My speakers are Revel Ultima Studios (L&R), Voice (Center), Embraces (Sides), and new Arendel 1723 Surrounds (Rears). I confess that I am quite pleased with my sound system and really get a kick out of listening to well-engineered multichannel recordings and movies.

Let me add that I love chatting with other enthusiasts about their equipment, recordings, and experiences listening to multichannel audio.

That sounds like a kick-ass system, how fun. Welcome!

Pleased to meet you Jonathan. That's a nice intro. And as GOS said, a kick ass system. I always like to point out there is a place in your profile to better list your gear so it doesn't get lost after the 1st post. Oh, and there's a Show Us Your Gear thread if you feel inclined to post pics of your set up. Looking forward to your post #2! Oh, and what part of the world do you live in?

Welcome aboard! While most of us can’t share listening experiences, we are a chatty bunch, and we’re always willing to help ruin your finances in favor of the far more important fantastic music,

Nice to meet you, too. I live in Las Vegas, NV, USA. Historically, Las Vegas has been an audio wasteland, but, as of late, two stores have opened -- one of which is becoming a true "candy store" of marvelous equipment.

Good afternoon all! Thank you for granting me the priveledge of joining! I've been a long-time lurker here, but finally decided to jump on board. Been interested in surround/quad/etc for quite awhile, but haven't really had the opportunity to setup a full system until recently. Working on trying to find a good "middle ground" for both music and movies in surround...

Hello everyone.
Just looked and I signed up to be a member here 3 years ago and have never posted. I guess it’s about time.

I think I remember finding this place while looking around for Pink Floyd stuff online. Already had the Floyd Immersion boxes and then one day I found Roxy Music -Avalon in SACD at a used shop for 15 bucks, and I’ve been hunting down surround discs ever since.

Thanks to all the cool people on here, I’ve found a few bargains here and there, bought some titles I probably wouldn’t have before, and this site now gets checked daily, even though I never post anything.

Thanks for allowing me to lurk and check stuff out. Keep up the good work!
Hello- just recently made the plunge into Apple Music after long time urging from a buddy - and wow- am glad I did! He tipped me off to this site. First things I’ve been exploring are the Beatles and Dead Atmos mixes. I look forward to a deeper exploration and resting your comments in releases.

Hello all.
Just found this site after searching for a company/service that can convert 8tack quad tapes to DVD. No luck yet. I figured QQ it might be a good resource for all things surround sound anyway. As mentioned earlier, I'm trying to find a service that can convert 8track quads to DVD (or Blu-ray).I have Joni Mitchell's Court and Spark and Hissing of Summer Lawns, Hair (orig Broadway musical on RCA) and the Free Design Kites Are Fun 4 channel LP to work on. All Quad.
Aside from that, I have looked in on the threads from time to time. There's a lot of interesting info on here and appreciate what you guys post!
