Damn, I've never received an LP with a big crack in it. That is nuts...
I know!!!
The thing is that it was VERY WELL packed, I know cause I worked in Logistics and know good packaging when I see it... another weird thing is that there were no visible bends on the LP mailer so I did not suspect a thing... I must say that the seller was extremely nice and refunded me the entire cost which is really welcome.. I was , as usual , VERY nice to him and did point out that it was very well packed and that it might have been a mistake while visually grading but he said it must have been during shipping.. oh . man...what a waste!
I will see if it looks flat enough to play but I really don't want to waste even an inexpensive stylus for an LP....
Thanks for your sympathy, folks, appreciated...even if in Scotland it's something to celebrate! ;)

Just got this on the P.R.S. label...not I.R.S. What is the difference between a bootleg & an unauthorized release anyway?

I’m sure someone here knows. Looking on Discogs, three Martin-era albums are on “P.R.S.” and the listings say “Fanclub Edition” which is probably still a bootleg or unauthorized version.

If I recall, those weren’t always easily available after I.R.S. ended, so perhaps someone took it into their own hands and made them available.

I.R.S. stood for International Record Syndicate (according to Wiki) so maybe someone got clever and went with Pirate Record Syndicate... P.R.S. (OK... maybe not.)

Looking forward to the Martin-era set that we keep being promised.

Rich Mountain Tower Aurora CD

It is an official CD from the master recording you can hear it. It is copyrighted 2014. Long enough for there to be any lawsuits like the ones regarding black Jazz recordings.
The liner notes state they created an escrow account and cannot locate the owner. I believe the original label Ovation went into receivership and someone bought all their tapes. So this is not a bootleg but the surviving band members may be owed some money for this 1971 recording. Amazon sells this CD
This is an EV or QS encoded recoding it was available on quad 8track and there is a second quad album they released of this group with a later non quad third album on a different label.
Anyways I like the music.

It’s possible that some things on my Amazon Wish List fell into my cart over the weekend and ended up in my house today. (Not pictured is Rush’s Signals which finally came today.)

as usual, when my wife comes from a trip where my sis in law-whom I have versed in the art of buying good condition LPs and always gets me something interesting- has been...she came today and took these out of her bag!

This one I have always wanted and this is a MINTY original DECCA USA pressing with the lyric booklet AND lyrics inner sleeve..it's a 1971 repress though but it was probably played a couple of times , if anything!

This one I never got back then when it came out in 1977 cause I did not have the $$$ to get it, so fate has given me a nice, although played a lot and with many spindle marks but very well cared for! It even has a "Wally" cut on the 4th side...nice gold embossed cover-looks like a FIRST PRESSING... I guess today is BROWN COVER DAY!

Voce Abosou!!

Bought that Mendes on vinyl and again on Japan CD. I'm close to complete on him including Mexico, UK, Japan and Brazil only releases. Caught him live. In my 5 fave artists.

Have a 2 LP JC Superstar Decca pressing. Bought it new. Had a 2 MCA Gold CD set of it too. One of my best friends wanted the CD's more than I did. Caught him live too on more Sundays than I could count.

an eternal favorite of mine...found a SEALED LP of a US pressing...am quite pissed off cause , even though it's sealed, it's dirty and looks like a BAD pressing..it even has some scratches!!!, oh well..
I know it's NOS cause the shrink looks legit and it has the sticky remains of a circular record store sticker...at least it's a LOUD pressing and it SIZZLES on my Shibata stylus....
