What's the latest Multichannel SACD or DVD-A added to your pile? - Vol 1 (CLOSED)

Sorry forgot to respond to the Belafonte release. It is a very recent if not new release. Good sound on this one...I have a hard time judging the sound quality of some of these remastered older recordings.

I was going to buy that then found out it is mono. Mono SACDs don't seem to offer much of an improvement over a CD, but I'll probably buy it eventually. And that Nat King Cole one too (it's stereo).

Well, I just ordered Black Sabbath Paranoid on SACD. Honestly, I don't have such high hopes, but maybe I'll be surprised. Last DVD-Audio? Jeez.....Been awhile. I think Steely Dan - Gaucho. Which, by the way, is an amazing mix and top shelf AQ.

Just picked up Graham Nash "Songs for Survivors" DVD-A for $19.00

The music is not aggressive in the surrounds but I always like his style!

Give a listen to Kamakiriad-if you like Gaucho, you will love this one! A lot a thought went into production of the 5.1 version. The soundfields are great, with really good use of the rear channels.

Just got back from a few days business in Nigeria and Kenya to a few packages.

In the first one was this...



Then, after some searching, I found two of the remaining three Talking Heads 5.1 albums that I didn't yet own...





So, imagine my surprise when in the package, the guy who had sold me those two albums had also thrown in this, completely free of charge!! This completes the collection!



To say I am eternally grateful is an understatement!

New Adventures In Hi-Fi - R.E.M. (CD/DVDA).

Realised after all of Failed Muso Rob's posts lately that I didn't have this one on DVDA after all! How that happened I don't know!? Or I may have lost it under a pile of stuff! I gave up rummaging after a while.. These were knocking about a long time ago now.. ..anyhoo, when I saw it for under a tenner I had to grab it, just in case and if not I guess someone might want it someday.

buy that MEtallica DVDA reissue... so they realize it sells and cant be downloaded (most importat thing for Lars Ulrich), so they do Kill em All, Ride the Lightning, MAster of Puppets and ...and Justice for all in glorious DVDA

good thinking! I've two copies at the mo, without even trying, its not hard to find! lets clear their stocks, get it to sell out, so we can send a sign and get some more Metallica in 5.1 as you suggest..!!

tell me about it! everything used to "go up to eleven"...

..I'm lucky to have any hearing left (years of over-doing it on Zeppelin, Queen, Van Halen, Iron Maiden, Iggy, you name it!)

..there's been a notable shift in my tastes and listening habits the last 5 or so years (I used to turn my nose up at jazz or the likes of Steely Dan, now I LOVE it all..!!). eek.. I'm an old fart! :yikes

getting there too... high blood pressure and thos kinda things... my hearing.. getting worse, now I cant read stuff that is 10 mts away... got a 56 inch TV and cant barely recognize anything on it..
