stick_deep_2.jpg - My copy from Amazon arrived today. I have to say that based on the Amazon description and the actual packaging, I was expecting DTS only - a nice suprise to find 5.1 24/96 DVD Audio inside - plus a very nice concert video to boot (albeit in DD 2.0) - I've only just scratched the surface so far, but I am very impressed with the mix - kudos to Neil!

Hi Elmer, on jpc.de the product description says that the DVD is region coded for region 1. Could you tell us if your copy is R1? Thank you in advance.

anytime! (although I ought not take the credit if it wasn't me raving away that inspired you to buy it, I do feel chuffed that I got a QQ thread/poll for it knocked up to get this unsung hero some attention!) :)

A great DualDisc indeed (Letters From Argentina)! I would also highly recommend this title....instrumental, but if, like me, you really like Argentine music, then you will love this one. Thanks for getting me interested fredblue :)

really glad you're enjoying it! (y)

it's one I tried in vain to get for ages (seller's never stating explicitly if they indeed had the DualDisc or even knowing what a DualDisc is/was when asked..!!) but it was worth the wait, it's a superb presentation of great music by a real maestro.

David Bridie - Act of Free Choice SACD. I have not found a lot of Australian artists in high res formats, so I'm chuffed to have my hands on this one. Ambient atmospheric music; perfectly suited to surround sound - doesn't seem to have a poll page on the forums here; I'm either missing it or it's a bit obscure. Vocals mostly on centre; surrounds mainly used for effects.

It has resulted in a couple of things on my end though... the hinges were broken in the mail, and I, like everyone seems to before me, have realised it's incredibly difficult to get your hands on replacement small hinge super jewel boxes that were used for SACD's of this era... even the expensive seller referred to on ebay seems to be gone now; doh!

Excellent "under the radar" disc...

FYI - The used copy I got had been put into a large hinge case.....

One of my favourite recent "finds"....

it's a great one! I think you told me about it in the first place LK!? although I do have a dim recollection of it being on my sa-cd.net wishlist for ages and then you reminding me about it which prompted me to go find it new/cheap there and then right here in Blighty. I can't really recall now, there's been a fair few SACDs under the bridge (and under the radar! obscuro city here we come!) since then!

meantime stupy don't despair looking for small hinged cases..
over here in the UK at least there were both CD albums and CD singles that got released in small hinge super jewel cases, so if you go looking through thrift stores you'll find some and you can just swop them out.

also I've got lucky with used SACDs where a seller has put artwork for a larger hinge case into a smaller hinge case (presumably all they could find! miraculously!) and then I just swop them round too. so don't give up they are out there (just like the slipcases on Sony SACDs, the USA plastic silver or gold/transparent ones not earlier cardboard with artwork, they often turn up when you least expect them! and oh do I love me a slippy old slipcase!) :D

I just watched the interview...it's quite interesting....
and YES, it DOES sound MUCH better on DVD-A (to me , obviously)...

Go for it, I think they still have it in stock...

I keep putting it off while I can get it readily/reasonably priced still (and as you proved you still can!) ..while there's a ton of harder to get OOP stuff I want first! Got to prioritise those pennies donchyaknow  ..but I will get it eventually!
