R&B I am hoping Grahm central station. It is a super quad fun mix. there are 2 quads, and one is better than the other, I am at work so i can't see my collection to see which one was the better. Heres hoping. David Gates would be fantastic. Gordy & Seals & Crofts are my next hopefuls. But there are a lot to good ones mentioned by others here.

The Eagles keep getting mentioned and I'd LOVE to see One of These Nights but I don't think it qualifies as 'soft rock'. This wave is looking like a pass for me if the 'singer/songwriter' isn't Joni, and given all her current releases I'm not too hopeful. My guess is 'singer/songwriter' will be JT or Gord and 'soft rock' will be Bread. If so, hopefully DV will fulfill my rock needs until wave 3 rolls out

the later Graham Central Station Quad, "Ain't No 'Bout A-Doubt-It" from 1975 is fantastic! 🤩 dizzying pans abound in "The Jam", watery effects sploosh and woosh over you in "I Can't Stand The Rain", it's an absolute hoot!! 🥰

gladly, Mister E.! 😋🤗

my personal favourites from a Surround Sound perspective are;

Gil Evans "Svengali",
Herbie Mann "Reggae",
Charles Mingus "Mingus Moves",
Donny Hathaway "Extension Of A Man",
Spinners (any of their 3 Quads are excellent sound quality and Surround mixes but the S/T is my favourite, one of the all-time Classic Quads with a killer mix by Thom Bell himself),
Average White Band "AWB",
Graham Central Station "Ain't No Bout-A-Doubt It",
David Gates "First",
Gordon Lightfoot "Sundown",
James Taylor "Gorilla",
Sergio Mendes S/T (seriously overlooked imho),
America "Holiday",
Deaf School "2nd Honeymoon",
Bette Midler "Divine Miss M.",
Stardrive featuring Robert Mason "Intergalactic Trot".
I wouldn’t mind the Deaf School, but it’s such a little known outlier, doubtful Rhino will ever get to it. But it is a bit quirky, so I like it!

You reminded me that I'd seen them a couple of times circa 1975-77! and it seems they are till gigging!! Deaf School Music Band
it's such a lovely kooky album, i think possibly the only example of Art Rock in studio Quad form (?) and the mix is way more Surround-y and more active than i was expecting, with lots of panning and cool use of placement in the Surround soundfielddddd to grrreat efffffectttt.! 😋🤩💫

My guess,

Soft Rock - Seals and Crofts
Singer/Songwriter - Gordon Lightfoot
R&B - Spinners
Jazz - Charlie Mingus
these would all be great choices! 🤞 i'm guessing "Diamond Girl" (or maybe "Summer Breeze"?) would be the first choice among the Seals & Crofts Quads? 🤔
of the two Gordon Lightfoot Quads "Sundown" is the biggy, such a great album and the one i'd love to see on Quadio Blu-ray. tbh really any of the 3 x Spinners Quads would be just wonderful, i'd love Rhino to do all of them in time, if possible! ❤️

In the past year or so buying things like Tears for Fears, xPropaganda and XTC (not the typical music for a person who leans toward 70s/80s rock) and actually liked them, I’ve accepted that nothing is off the table any more as a potential purchase.

I do like some jazz, so that feels like the most likely purchase, whatever the title is. I’ve got a fair amount of soft rock in my library, too, so that’s another that could be an easy buy. Singer/Songwriter probably falls into third place as far as interest with R&B behind that and I might be a little more discerning about those two.

While my excitement level of the genres is a bit lower than the first batch, I’m still looking forward to seeing what these will be and perhaps taking a chance on something I ignored when it originally came out.
