4 New Quadio releases coming in June!

The older gear had no issues with 4.0 quad; it's the chipset in newer AVRs that no longer know how to process 4.0 files via HDMI. The file has to be at least 5.0 to play in surround. Your 4.0 files from all of these Rhino Quadio discs will only be heard in 2.0 stereo because that is how the 4.0 is being interpreted.

Which Denon models are you referring to? Anything latter day (after 2011) is almost certainly not going to have analog (6CH IN) inputs and the player you have (which model?) likely lacks the analog outputs to feed an AVR's external input.

As suggested, the material can be augmented with a silent channel (or two) to fool the modern chipset. That would be discussed elsewhere.

That or a potential change in playback hardware.

No shit? Maybe that's why only 5.1 plays back on my parents' Pioneer, while my Onkyo plays back quad and 5.0 without any complaints. I was blaming Plex.

Finally received my Red Octopus. I haven't had the time to listen yet, but something I never see mentionned is how the little booklet is very well done with the golden effect on the cover, very clean layout, all the info needed, and printed on good stock paper.

And my Paranoid has finally moved from Fontana after being stuck there for 2 weeks so there is hope I might receive it.

But it’s not like they’re late… it appears they were never shipped in the first place. The bundle idea seemed like a good one but logistically maybe not

The four Quadios just arrived here in France! Black Sabbath Paranoid was in a separate package that was crushed at one corner, and it broke the jewel box inside. Those packages offer very few protection. (Good thing I had a spare of these somewhat hard to find jewel boxes)

Paraoind is by far the best of the bunch, IMHO.

At least I got shipping info. I can't see why they wouldn't even send that to you. Unless of course they weren't actually shipped.

Playing BS on my Oppo and Denon 4700 plays the quad just fine.

Well today I got...unannounced...in Peterborough ON...Paranoid. So it appears we Canucks may soon have our Quadio fix. But I ordered Tales of Mystery & Imagination by APP from Burning Shed in the UK last Monday...and it arrived today too!?!? Where have the Quadios spent the last 3.5 weeks?

So Red Octopus, J Geils and B$B showed up today but no sign of Paranoid, the one I really wanted…

Shouldn’t be too far behind so I’m hoping tomorrow. Other good news is Suede came as well so I have lots to listen to until Paranoid gets to me.

J Geils and B$B are immaculate but JS has a cracked corner near the hinge but thankfully does not affect the hinge at all. Still annoying and shocking that these were packaged with literally no protection at all.
