Hello, good folks! I'm terribly late to this party and I'm sure my question has been discussed and answered before, but here goes nothing. Would anybody have an idea of the best way to get these babies in Germany?

For all 4 at the moment only through the Rhino Store in the US afaik:
https://store.rhino.com/en/rhino-store/exclusives/?pdshow=true
In future through Amazon.com or some from the dig! store in the UK:
https://shop.thisisdig.com/gb/search/?q=quadio&search-button=&lang=en_GB

I have to say although I'm not interested in these 4 new releases (the artists and the albums are not my cup of tea at all) I am glad they are out there, happy that people who have them are enjoying them and I hope they sell tons of them, so that we get many more Quadios from many other artists.

I listened to sections of these albums on YouTube to see if I might like them as I'm a bit of a whore in relation to hi res surround music, but try as I might, but I just could not get into them.

The previous Chicago Quadios are vastly more in line with my tastes, but each to their own.

If Rhino release somehing like say Joni Mitchell's Court And Spark as a Quadio, I would be ordering that in a millisecond.

Received an email from Rhino today starting with:

How likely are you to recommend your Rhino Store experience to another fan or friend?

If I answer truthfully will the rest of my order go into a dumpster? :)

Probably not but think I’ll wait until I have my discs before answering
I hope I get one of those emails. Venting feels good :)

I'm still confident that all Rhino needs to do is have a pre-order window to alleviate most of their issues. That window will all them to process them in a non-rushed period of time. I imagine that onslaught of ASAP orders received in this batch overwhelmed them. The other side of the equation, shipping is beyond their control. Once they drop them off at the post office, it's out of their hands.

I guess time will tell, because we know there is at least once more batch coming.
Very good point. But they got a memo concerning UK release dates, and seemingly failed to note it did not apply to US orders. Once they were notified, it was like they kept delaying some of the discs for yet another unknown reason. It looks like management communication was very poor. Or like not everyone speaks the same language there at fulfillment. The reason taking advance orders might not have made a difference is that Rhino has had other releases get off to similar horrible starts and stops, this is not their first time going through this. I'll refrain from digging up much old past dirt.

Title of this thread should have been:

4 New Quadio releases coming sometime in July, and possibly August

This.

I feel for those who ordered/preordered on Day 0 / 1 and still waiting for all or missing items from their order, with no good info from Rhino to go by.

Letting Amazon have these is the smartest thing Rhino could do. They should let Amazon handle the upcoming releases from the onset. Their loss of profits from not being the exclusive seller should be more than offset by the hassles & internal costs they must have absorbed in fixing this rollout. Unless of course, they've learned a better process by now. Anything is possible.

I still highly commend @ForagingRhino and the Rhino team for bringing these to market! They deserve the kudos. Unfortunately, the same can't be said for whovever does their website and definitely for Gnarlywood. They deserve prunes.

When the next batch are announced, I'm going to have to do some thinking of whether to buy from Rhino again at the ring of the bell. Or wait a 1-2 months to be available on Amazon. I probably will still buy from Rhino so that FOMO doesn't set in :) I just hope they've ironed out their issues by then.
hey! I like Prunes, Electric ones and the kind you eat.

Thought I'd throw in a question here amidst all the (totally justified) grousing -- still waiting on my second disc :(

Why don't these discs have uncompressed PCM stereo tracks? I know they said they're not much focused on the stereo but it would be such an easy thing to do, and it's pretty much standard practice on BDAs. For someone like me whose older receiver can't decode DTS-HD it would be a nice plus. The PF Animals BDA has DTS-HD and PCM options for all three mixes (y)

Just received "your Rhino order has shipped" e-mail, so now the slow wait as they cross the pond. And fingers crossed for no import tax or charges! The Rhino order went on my credit card at just under £45, for the 2 discs less discount code plus shipping (y)
A week since mine appeared and so far no dreaded exorbitant tax gathering fee invoice, but from experience it can be up to 4 weeks, never had one turn-up after that.

It took a while but I got my 4 discs eventually. But my Paranoid disc has a bad spot. During Hand of Doom, one of my players pauses and just skips about a half second of the audio. My other one actually stopped playing at that spot. Tried to rip it to my hard drive and fails with too many hash errors or something.
Anyway, I've sent a note to Rhino but haven't heard back. Hope I can get a replacement disc before they're all gone. Other than that, it and the others sound great!

They will be available from September also on Amazon.com …

I'm hoping that our buying direct from Rhino registers a bit more in terms of a show of support. Still, they will get much higher visibility hence more units sold. Also, $25 + tax + prime shipping isn't bad.
