As I write I am in Muscle Shoals Alabama.
Going to Fame Studios and Muscle Shoals Studios tomorrow and then off to Memphis tomorrow.
Went to Grand Ole Opry last night. Broadway in Nashville is off the hook with live bands playing about every 20 feet in the bars.
Next time you're in Nashville, give me a heads up and come by for a coffee and a listen on my Focal surround set-up

I purchased the Chicago and Doobie Brothers Quadio box sets. I love the quad mixes, the great quality and care taken with these Quadio sets. The pricing of the upcoming Quadio single releases is fantastic. That said, none of the artists being discussed for the upcoming Quad releases excite me much IMO. I would really like Randy Newman - Good Old Boys but beyond that title i don‘t see much left for me to purchase. Are the Paul Simon Quad mixes owned by Rhino? The Paul Simon Quad mixes I would buy. JMHO
the Paul Simon Quads come under Sony's auspices. 2 of his Quads are currently streaming on Tidal in 360 Reality Audio.

I've been following this thread and was wondering if any Linda Ronstadt albums were recorded/released in Quad? I know she was with Warners/Asylum for awhile.
nothing that saw release but there may have been an album mixed in Quad that never made it out in the 70's 🙂

edit: i should add, it's a rather small window for WEA Quads ('73-76) compared to say CBS which was producing Quad mixes for a decade but Linda Ronstadt had 3 Elektra albums during that timeframe that are potential Quad candidates, 1973's "Don't Cry Now", 1975's "Prisoner In Disguise" and 1976's "Hasten Down the Wind".. so who knows what Rhino may find in the vaults!? 🤔

The only surround Linda Ronstadt (that we’re aware of) is the “What’s New” DVD-Audio that came out in the early 2000s.

well that's a 5.1 mix of course rather than a Quad.. but if Rhino are of a mind to start tackling some of those cancelled 5.1 pre-order jobbies from ye olden DVD-A days then there's a few titles that i'd say "wooden tit bee luvverlee" if they did! 🤩✌️

I looked for a quad mix of Gord's Gold in the vault and found nothing.

Despite getting a quad catalog # that one always seemed like a stretch to me since it went back to his early material. Now I see (thanks Wikipedia) that those are re-recordings of the United Artists material so not so far-fetched. I was so disappointed Summertime Dream never got a quad release. I suspect had it been released a year earlier (where Cold On The Shoulder was on the calendar) it would've happened.

And ironically, besides WHAT'S NEW Linda Ronstadt recorded three albums with Nelson Riddle on ASYLUM, the other two being LUSH LIFE and FOR SENTIMENTAL REASONS...I have the RBCD set of all three

Linda Ronstadt With Nelson Riddle & His Orchestra* - Lush Life

For Sentimental Reasons

That is correct. According to Foraging Rhino none of the new titles have ever appeared on optical disc.
They have all appeared on optical disc, just not in quadraphonic is what he meant. I don't consider that pirated copy of the "Paranoid" album transferred from a CD-4 LP "released."

It's a clever tactic if you only care about US sales. Now admittedly that may be 90% of the worldwide quad market, but it's still disappointing for the rest of us.
You can still get the Doobies Quadio in the UK from the Rhino/Warners store The Doobie Brothers: Quadio Boxed Set, so I am hopeful we will be able to get the others.
