Let me tell you something interesting: The DV team knows more about our buying habits than you may think. When the 1st 3 December titles wee announced, I immediately bought them. As we know DV can ship very quickly after an order is placed. Of course the next day the other 3 titles were announced. I thought oh dear I will have 2 shipments. I had noticed that my 1st order had not shipped as quickly as before. I put a note in the comments section of the 2nd order to combine the 2 orders if the 1st had not shipped. the next day day I got a PayPal notice of a refund. It was for the shipping cost of 1 order. Shortly afterwards I go a email that my 2 orders had shipped. This tells me that DV predicted that I would place an order for the additional announced titles. Interesting or a conspiracy theory .

All 6 ordered! I am not clear as to whether Giant Box is an SQ decode or a quad reel. Can anyone shed light on this? If a decode, who did it?

I have a conversion of Giant Box and like parts of it quite alot!

Sounds like both; maybe a discrete safety reel?
N.B. This reissue includes both the original stereo and discrete quadraphonic mixes. Additionally, the SACD multi-channel layer includes the original SQ-decoded quadraphonic mix [tracks 8-14]. The original discrete quadraphonic master no longer exists; therefore, the best available discrete quadraphonic sources have been used.

Let's ask Adam! Hey @fredblue : what do the liner notes say?

i couldn't sleep so i checked it out, its fully discrete and sounds really nice. i suspect it may be a dub or safety or something, it sounds great! i won't be bothering with my old SQ LPs again, put it that way!

as a cool bonus there's SQ-decoded tracks tacked on the end of the SACD MCh tracks (guess they were done with a Surround Master i don't know?)

..and for those of us with old decoders & receivers, Tate's, Surround Masters, etc i think the 2Ch may be SQ encoded also.

a superb release, so happy they did this one, musically its amazing and the mix is nice and Quaddy πŸ₯°

They certainly did a good job anticipating my buying habits too! I ordered the 6 titles over the course of 2 days in two separate orders and they refunded me the extra shipping due to combining the orders...without me even writing a note! Now that's an honest business practice. There is nothing not to love about DV.

Well,I got a refund too,but I hope they did not combine my orders. Then I will have to pay VAT and a handling fee 'couse the total gets over the VAT free limit. Maybe they should ask first?

.....Remember to stay tuned because another tranche of goodies is due to be released imminently … it includes several classic soul albums of the ’70s, the quadraphonic mixes of which are making their first ever appearance in the SACD format.

Any news?

Are there any more Guess Who albums that were quadrified in their day that could still come out? Hoping for Live at The Paramount but someone said the original tapes had been lost.

Looking forward to reports on these latest 6 once people get a chance to hear them could be soon for European buyers I would think.
