Apple Joining the Atmos streaming game!

I am still mystified how I missed this Pearl Jam release. They didn’t say a word! I literally check their website every day.

Again, I believe they will tomorrow, since tomorrow is the anniversary of both albums. Maybe we can dream for an announcement of a physical release as well. There's no coincidence that Apple Music hasn't said a word/promote it, either.
I'm alredy seeing them both in the Spatial Audio section.

Are you guys getting Ten in Atmos in the US. For some reason only playing in stereo even though it’s in the new spatial audio release list. No problems playing other atmos music. I’m using Apple TV.

As far as I know, you need an Apple TV 4K streaming box to get Dolby Atmos to play. The previous Apple TV will not work.

So I listened to Ten again, last night I thought Vedders vocals sounded different on Release, the vocal are mixed so well and clear on this Atmos mix on the other songs I chalked it up to that.

well after second listen I‘m pretty sure he re-recorded his vocals for this mix.

To clarify on Release only. It’s his older breathy voice, I would have preferred the original vocal personally

wow..!! that's impressive!
i can feel my old discs crying since they're not going to be getting (m)any new surround playmates to sit on the shelves gathering dust along with!

meantime i hope they don't just pull all 1865 tracks from the service anytime soon! i wonder what the Apple T's & C's say about that? i bet there's a clause that says they can remove tracks or even terminate the service at any time without warning!

The vocal track on Release is absolutely a different recording. Not sure WHEN it was recorded, at times it does sound like an older Ed, but he also uses slightly different lyrics, like he does when he sings the song live.

Right, I noticed something odd about the intro on Release. The OOOhhhs were somewhat different, or at different time.

So far...WOW WOW WOW whomever mixed this took a page from the Steven Wilson book of Atmos! Bass is a little lackluster though.

It’s like someone forgot to add the LFE channel. I mean it’s there but very subtle. I think they should’ve gone with a more aggressive approch. Otherwise great mix

that actually worked. I have my original Ten cd uploaded via iTunes Match so perhaps that was keeping it from playing the atmos version.
