Hit 65 in a few weeks and so I'm going through my grumpy old man phase! :ROFLMAO:
Buy yourself an expensive toy like the new REVOLVER Deluxe DELUXE box set with 4 180g half speed mastered VINYL RECORDS! OR,

A set of Beatles' Sergeant Pepper Garden Gnomes

they've let themselves go!

It'll have to be half speed LP I can't keep up with the full speed one these days, takes a lot of winding up that gramophone :ROFLMAO:

Apparently Amazon UK's price for the deluxe set is £129.99 lol...no thanks, no Blu-ray no purchase. Saves me money and shelf space and no, I won't be subscribing to a streaming service, no matter how many folk tell me it's the 'future' and the only way to go. If this is the future then I'm done, they can stuff it.
Me too, I won’t be streaming and I certainly won’t be downloading files. I want the physical product in my hand, something that I own, something that I can pick up and put down when I feel like it, I guess i’m not happy at the future of surround

It's pretty clear that there won't be any Atmos mixes in the boxes. But I don't see how they can "sell" the Atmos mix as part of the set if it's streaming only when you can just as easily listen to it without purchasing the set. That makes me think there will be download.

I believe that the Beatles Revolver SDE is a step too far with their pricing. $130 plus for 4 cds - yeah I know 5 cds with one of them having 2 songs twice that could easily been on one of the other cds. What are you paying for? A pretty box, a book you will look at couple times and some outtakes? To not put on the Atmos mix on a blu ray for this box set makes Revolver the most over priced / worst value box set I can think of. I sound upset but not really. The greed of it all makes this an easy decision not to buy Revolver. I don’t know about anyone else but signing up for streaming to get Revolver isn’t going to happen for me.

I'm sort of glad I don't even have to consider buying the box to get the Atmos mix. Chances are excellent that I wouldn't anyway if I can stream it anyway. OTOH, if I could latch onto a lossless (or less lossy) download for more reasonable price without the silly box then I will quite happy.

If (and it would likely never happen) an Atmos download purchase option were to appear, we’d probably get it in the form of a .mp4 file with limited video content displaying during playback.

Something like the Pearl Jam - Gigaton “visual experience” through Apple.

I'm disappointed too, but this is how the Petty Wildflowers box was. 150 for 5 cds and a book. They even made it weirder by not including a doc about the album and then releasing it for free after.
I'd assume atmos will be exclusive to Apple for x months. Petty was exclusive to Amazon for 6 months if I recall.

The Digital release mirrors the 5 CD release (63 tracks) or the album itself (14 tracks). This iteration will be able to be purchased from sites like Qobuz or HDtracks in hi-res (24/96) or lower bitrate. The Atmos mix, sadly, is not part of this downloadable content, it's only going to be available through streaming.

I remember the firestorm regarding the download-only tracks on McCartney's Flowers in the Dirt deluxe archival edition. Oh, jeez, if some UME bureaucrat is calling the shots on such a high-profile release, we'll never see those Zappa quads, either.

I don't see how they can legitimately claim that the Atmos mix is included if the only way you can get it is by streaming. Does Apple (records) have it's own streaming service?

Wouldn't that be a MF?!
You have to enter a code from the set to gain access through some Apple Records paywall?
