in time you'd benefit from sticking those speakers on stands but they're fine on shelves etc to save you a few quid. plus you could use all the cabling you've got already..
unless its really horrible bellwire that's been hard-wired to the satellite speakers already!? in which case as many metres of basic 79-strand speaker cable as you need to run round the room and you'll be made up!

Oh, Hinge !!! Can I insert these Sony speaker cables into the above ! ?

Kindest regards, ( for any feedback )

Bracket.

( Sorry it's blurred !!....i'd taped it to the table too ! :( )

I think a Hinge and Bracket thread hi-jack would be the straw that broke the camels back ;)

Insight and humour and are a fine blend but obscure English camp comedy stumps most non-UK folk other than the Germans. Having said that, and in an attempt to at least set the thread back on to surround music, the Q4 of Highway One by The Mystic Moods Orchestra does feature a weird English camp humour moment when one of the soundscape tracks brings in the sound of a distant radio in the rear right (if my memory serves me well) playing George Formby! :smokin

I want to point out to fellow QQ members, that these posts are beneficial, because if I upgrade my speakers, then I can give a more in depth analysis, to these BD-A's ! :D

The thing is Adam, at this present moment in time, I have NO BUDGET ! ( not even for low end ) I got in a financial pickle, because I bought a very expensive bookcase ( to put all those discs in ! ) and a very expensive pair of headphones ( when I've already got two pairs ! ) I need to get my priorities in order, i.e. to try and cut down on my spending ( of little treats !!....but unfortunately, these treats add up !! )

Don't want to go off topic....but here's my equipment....View attachment 10564View attachment 10565

I can't even afford to change the carpet. ( that was here, when I moved in 8 years ago ) but saying that...I can keep buying discs !!

Am I seeing this correctly- do you have your components stacked on your AVR? That's a huge no-no; hard for it to dissipate heat. That would definitely impact the life expectancy of any receiver.

I'll pm you....don't want to upset anyone....by going off topic.

You two remind me of Julian and Sandy! (it's meant to be a complement - they're huge comedy heroes of mine) Bona Audio anyone?

But if you don't like the idea of Gainsbourg perving into your living room via the centre speaker then I'd probably avoid it, even despite how lovely the whole mix is, as it really has him at the centre. Worth a go maybe?

Anyway, back to our friends at Bona Audio where Fredblue is helping Dixie4 get it up - his new speaker wire that is. (just realised this makes me Kenneth Horne right?)

Ooh I know! tres bona to vada your eek! :p

nothing for a pair of Queens in this game! and what a pair!

it's a laugh a month with us two around! :D

etc.. I think I need a lie down, it's all too much!

I am conscious Rob and I are a lethal combination with a penchant for going off topic too often on here lately and that's not good at all.

however rotten I already feel that its pissed some people off on here, I'd feel much worse about it were it not for the 3,600 other perfectly valid and On-Topic posts (I'd like to think) I've contributed here in the last 4 years..@:

It would make life a lot easier for me if I could use existing speak wire. If I had to buy new wire i'd have to get someone to sort it out.....

of course! you can definitely get by on that wire.

you can upgrade it in time.

changing the speakers the most important thing you could do at this stage,
cable can wait for another day (y)

I think we better get back on topic here now mr :)

PM me anytime you have anymore Qns etc.

tata for now! :D

Thank you kind Sir ! Will do !!

The one BD-A I keep coming back to in the last couple of days is Diana Krall - Look Of Love.

Good vocalists, will suit these BD-A's. ( Would love to hear George Michael and other exceptional vocalists, on this format ) Mmmmmm !!

Glad you're enjoying it, though you could be enjoying the excellent 5.1 mix that's on the SACD & DVD-A too! (all the Diana Krall's are great in surround). It should have been included on the blu-ray, as with Layla and all the other titles where there were 5.1's before.. but it's already been said to the nth degree and its too late now!

Agreed. It could be like the Analogue Productions SACDs - which include a 5.1 mix when available. Chad Kassem refers to it as adding the "gravy"!
