Red Sun is excellent . Don't know why V is so expensive on amazon. It's £12.61 at Rarewaves:Amazon.co.uk has decided to let me do pre-orders again! So I've ordered the stand alone BD at £18.99. If its dire then it is not that bad considering some of the other surround albums I've coughed up way more for and been disappointed, also not a bad price as amazon.co.uk want £17.99 for the pre-order of Black Country Communion's "V" CD - which contains the excellent track "Red Sun" which Planet Rock have been playing quite a bit.
Available only on Amazon USA? Thanks

Managed to get a stand by booking in the end. Gotta say the new Atmos mix sounds amazing! This is on KEF’s state of the art 9.14(!).6 Atmos system. I’m not sure how it will transcribe on more normal systems but there were plenty of individual elements you could hear in this new mix. The drums are really intelligently incorporated into the mix. All songs seem to have their own approach. The acoustic guitar on Starman comes in from the right side channel. The ‘freak out’ backing echo moves all around the room in Moonage Daydream. It’s not a Steven Wilson surround like mix but I really enjoyed it, boy does it sound good to my ears… Roll on September… ️Jeez, it’s already fully booked for every slot in the next 2 weeks!

Have you heard the 5.1 mix? My fear was that it wouldn't be substantially different from the upcoming Atmos mix.Managed to get a stand by booking in the end. Yeah it was really loud! Which is fine by me! I think on the original record Ken Scott had a note written on the back advising that the album should be played back loud. I listen to everything loudly though, say what old bean?!14 subs!? crikey o'reilly..
I can't remember particularly placing them to be honest, I'd guess it was more in the middle of the room but I could be wrong. I could defo place certain instruments in various side and surround channels though, including the strings. Didn't notice anything from the heights in particular either but that's because it seemed like more of a 'ball' of sound to me? On Five Years the echo to the "sighing, crying, dying, lying" lyrics were defo in the rear channels. I should've noticed more but I was too busy nodding my head up and down listening to the music...where did the "ooohh-ooohh-ooohh-ooooh" BVs in "Moonage Daydream" appear to emanate from? how about the strings in "Starman"?
Each song seemed to have its own unique mix approach. Lead vocal was mostly across the front but I remember one song, could be 'It Ain't Easy', where the vocal started in the front left channel, then moved to the front right and then centred. Sounds weird but it worked I think.would you say Bowie's lead vocal felt like it was hard in the Centre or spread across the Front LCR or did it feel like it was a 'lead vocals all round' type presentation?
Yeah I've got the old SACD. This is quite different although hopefully it's going to be what people like and surround-y enough. I loved it!Have you heard the 5.1 mix? My fear was that it wouldn't be substantially different from the upcoming Atmos mix.
