Another 5 years and their won't be a market for this stuff since we'll be spending all of our money on doctor bills and depends.

Not me...
But best case scenario for the Wall is if they could mix and release it (along with the film on Blu-Ray) next year for the album's 35th anniversary. (but even that seems highly unlikely...)

Guthrie started working on this a long time ago. Wouldn't be surprised if both projects (original recording and film) are both done by now.

No problem. I still have the LDs. Both versions.

Was never a fan of The Wall, but man I ain't NEVER letting go of my LD collection!

same here kap'n! (y) I could never part with my LDs! I love 'em! plus without them I'd never have read things like Widescreen Review (which I used to read from cover to cover and helped me spend way more money than necessary!) nor would I have got my first Dolby Digital rig (with AC3 RF Demodubobucomulatatoriser!) which then led to me getting DTS, which then led to me getting DTS CDs, then DVD (before anyone else i knew! woo! fancy schmancy pants or what!) then DVD-A's and the rest is history! I've got so many things on LD that have never been issued on DVD (legit) it's crazy! No they're going to the grave with me my trusty old LDs!

only a few that has either never been released on DVD (or properly=another version, etc.) off of the top of my mind....
-The Knack "at Carnegie Hall"
-Living Coloür "Time tunnel " ,,and another one...
-Rush "Exit stage Left"-the real Stereo mix...love how the bass sounds on this one...
-The Who-"Tommy" 1989 tour.
-King Crimson" Live in Japan" 1984 (the DVD is probably sourced from this)
-Fleetwood Mac (In concert) 1980(??DiscoVision)
-Pink Floyd At Pompei
-The Dream Academy (videos with the whole album on PCM stereo Audio Only)
-Aerosmith Live in Texxas jam '78 and "Scrapbook"

,,,and let's not even count the classic Indiana Jones and Star Wars trilogy (plus the "Phantom Menace")
The "Tom and Jerry collections with the real "black" Mama voice, Tex Avery box, WB Looney Tunes boxes, Windham Hill ones, etc.

One I'm REALLY looking for is the Cheap Trick one Live at ChicagoFest in 1981 with Pete Comita on bass...

Yup...gotta Love 'em,

Actually, Pink Floyd at Pompeii was officially released on DVD:

I own several of those on official DVDs.

The Tubes - Completion Backwards Principle is criminally missing on DVD! Had to re-buy a laserdisc of it last year.

I'm down to a Denon single side player now. In 1982 we moved into a house with no TV; just a Pioneer top loader LD, a studio monitor and the stereo. Loves the early LDa and still have three 8" discs.

The Pink Floyd is different ("The Director's cut"), and inferior IMO..
as for the other ones, which are the ones released on "official unaltered" form?

I highly doubt they are either legal or as good as the LD (enter the KC at Japan)...

That's kinda what I was getting at. Today's kids don't give a rat's butt about Pink Floyd or ELP or Elton John, so the record companys are playing a game of chicken with themselves with all these multi-year delays. In a decade or so, nobody will care about the 70's stuff. Not "nobody" but a much smaller market of customers who will pay 30 dollars or so for one recording.
