Ugh!! I’m a sucker. Ordered!!
That’s a tough one to resist, even owning the SACD.

Wasn’t there something wrong with an early release of BD of this (hope they’re not just selling those off?)

No Freddie beloved Madman pillow included?

Edit- had a follow up corrected BD from lossy to DTS~HD MA! and they’re “Cussions” not Pillows!

If Universal is sitting on a bunch of these, and blowing them out via Amazon, that may explain why they declined to release similar packages for Honky and Don’t Shoot Me
Sadly, if this is true, the issue isn't the material but the pricing. This fell off my radar because of the list price, but at $40-ish it's a good deal. Same for those overpriced boxed/deluxe sets, few will buy vinyl and compact discs and trinkets/prints when all they want is the bluray, and vice-versa. Voting with our wallets should lead to better, more market-appropriate releases. I guess we'll see in time. Elton's got a huge following and most surround enthusiasts would fall within his music buying demographic. It would seem there's money to be made, hopefully the pause is just recalibration.

That statement might have meant something at one time...but not anymore....the reality is that not many companies are even interested in physical discs anymore....and the list of those interested in surround discs is even smaller......we are nearing the end of an era...now companies know that customers will pay for streaming or downloads....why would they want to bother with all the headaches of physical discs...

seems very likely! in which case that insider at SHTV must've been talking a load of cobblers when he said it had sold well, exceeding expectations! 🤯 it's a shame because it's a well put together set, the accompanying book is superb, the video material's great even though it's been out there 'forever', the bonus track demos are genuinely worthwhile and previously unreleased. ah well..
