I have a previous BD release of Ordinary People and it's just a smidge of a step up from a DVD transfer with Dolby Digital 2.0 (even though the artwork says 5.1). Great movie, but I think I'll hold off until it gets a native 4K release - which is what I'm doing for other BD releases from now on. Gotta be discerning for some of the obscure titles such as this one I got on BD a while ago but is getting a 4K release soon: Effects 4K Blu-ray (4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray) ARGH! Always a gamble.
Agree Pete! Now that all those films have been remastered in 4K, it's the logical step for Paramount to eventually release them in Native UHD4K or license them to reissue companies like Kino Lorber for actual UHD4K transfers!

Only a Matter of Time!

Same. My regular BD purchasing has dwindled to almost nothing; I'm only buying UHD unless it's something that is very unlikely to come out on that format (e.g. classic Doctor Who).

AmazonUS has a sale on the Paramount Presents series of films 'remastered' from 4K sources and some sporting newly remastered Dolby True HD 5.1 soundtracks. Most are 50% off:

Oh, crap.

Oh, crap.
Choose wisely as a lot of these are destined for Native UHD4K releases. I did order RAGTIME as it's a fav and the reviews were good but for instance, 48 hrs and Another 48 hrs are already out as a two~fer on Native UHD4K [and ironically cheaper than the BD~Vs, at least from Deep Discount with their current 15% off coupon].

More tidbits of INFO:

According to James Cameron, Avatar THE WAY OF WATER has to gross $2B worldwide to 'break even ...' and has so far underperformed at the box office and Sequels 3 & 4 were shot concurrently with The Way Of Water.

I took my son and his buddy to see this teusday...and I greatly enjoyed it. I could notice the 48 frames per second scenes and I was fine with it. Great natural 3D and a very bright and clear picture. I was careful to see this in a good theater with a large screen.
I was expecting just to enjoy it on a visual level but I thought the acting and intra family dynamics were excellent.
Im ready to see it again.
