Here’s a free Atmos download! Raging Lunatics - Weedstock 2000 EP
Just the 2 edited tracks from the original Weedstock Vol 4 CD here. Looking for some feedback before finalizing everything.
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1XMEdEwqMC66-MIFGuXHT6C0UUZ-lrQOk?usp=sharing

Remixed from the original 16 track ADAT recording.
24 bit 48k audio
- Encoded TrueHD+Atmos in mka (mixed on a 7.1.4 system)
- 7.1.4 wavpack (no Dolby encoding)
- 5.1 flac
- stereo flac

The EP and full show and the rest of the Raging Lunatics back catalog will be going live on Bandcamp and streaming soon.
Here’s a pre-release of the EP. If there was any recording of ours that might be recognized it’s this. Looking for feedback. Anything from technical notes to mastering and mix critique, etc is welcome. The mixes are probably finished but here’s your chance to say otherwise! Or just grab a free 7.1.4 Atmos mix and lurk.

Does the mka work for everyone?
Does anyone “DIY” Atmos and like the wavpack files?

Language Warning/Guarantee - If the song titles, band name, and comments didn’t already make it clear.

Intriguing. I downloaded the wavpack but am playing in 7.1 so I folded the heights into the surrounds & rears. I imagine Im not getting the full benefit but it certainly uses all the space available. Music gives me the feeling that Gong, early Floyd, Primus and Scratch Perry have been coerced into some sort of unnatural act (possibly by Zappa) - this is meant in a positive way

edit: am particularly enjoying the bass guitar

Love the review @godathunder! You've spotted some of my influences indeed! "Unnatural act" is a great choice of words!

Well, that's interesting. The wavpack master gets grabbed right away. :)

Thanks so much for sharing this! The 7.1.4 wavpack is attractive to me b/c no AVR just DACs and speakers (using VOX now). I have found that lossless atmos is much "easier" to listen to than Apple Music streaming even if the genre is not my fav (I don't know what that means except I don't feel the urge to skip to the next track).

Spoiler: I was curious if anyone would have anything to say about the levels in the encoded Atmos version. Anything about live music in Atmos or only a 3 piece band or "front heavy" would be good stuff too. :D

I definitely thought the software dance and prying the Atmos decoder from Dolby's hands were the hard part about expanding to Atmos! Hanging 4 new speakers wasn't all that bad. Looks like I'm not alone wanting to see standard non-encoded files for 7.1.4.

The crickets you can hear in the background in the opening of the first track might make a good soundtrack for this post. :D
I kind of expect the put it down and quietly back away response though. Probably what we were going for.

This and the other RL albums are reissuing soon. Still time to play critic if anyone wants though. I was already pretty sure I was going to be releasing the 7.1.4 mix in standard wavpack along with encoded Atmos. The reinforcement here absolutely seals the deal!

I took a listen to the 5.1 (no Atmos setup) and it sounds plenty active to me, with the perfect brightness. No changes needed.
