That's great!Very clever. I think I'll be in the MkIII camp ( I only have 4 channels anyway!)
Incidentally will there be choices of LED colours as before?
Yes there will be a choice of colours, even colours that were not available last year.

when did you say my MK-III will be shipping out?Yes!
I'm making the mk-III alongside the mk-II. The mk-III will have almost all the same display modes and options as the mk-II except ch 5,6,7 & 8 are always in "Matrix" mode. This model will use about half the electronic components necessary for the mk-II, not counting the leds of course. It will have only one main 2-layers pcb instead of one main 4-layers and one control 2-layers pcb which is a lot more expensive.
Both models uses the same amplifier and comparator modules.
Ahoy! here is mk-III !
note: Matrix modes is explained in an earlier post i did today.
Next spring if everything is going according to planswhen did you say my MK-III will be shipping out?
I will be in the Mark III camp also (severe case of 'upgrade-itis"!)Very clever. I think I'll be in the MkIII camp ( I only have 4 channels anyway!)

It's not a "RockyScope" series lolLooks great, but I am holding out for a mk-V. When will that be ready?
Thank you for the comparison!Looks great Wurlymaster. So were people not liking the plexiglass front or was it something else? Obviously this version has more knobs and such because of the extra channels and modes.
... it stand out from regular old audio gear. Almost like a Rolex in a world full of Timex’s.
Thank you for the comparison!
The mk-I will remain a classic of course but...
No there wasn't any real complaints about the all plexiglass front, it's just me because i found it more difficult to work with.
It can easily crack when drilling holes in it. The outer case will be similar: same lenght and height but greater width.
The mk-II and mk-III have more buttons because of new functions not necessary related to the additional channels.
HI all!
I spent the last 2 days doing parts inventory and calculating the requires quantity of each and every parts necessary to build 10 mk-II and 10 mk-III.
The total count is jaw dropping!
I think it would be very-very limited sold...Great! Maybe you could do a gold plated Limited Edition? A limited edition of an already limited edition product. You could call it “Limited Edition X2” or something?

Okay so here are the results of my inventory calculations.HI all!

The new and improved mk-III is less expensive than the mk-II? Reverse inflation?Okay so here are the results of my inventory calculations.
The parts count for the first 20 units is over 30000 electronic parts!
The cabinet and all fittings not included.
Yesterday and this morning i ordered some 15740 parts to begin with.
Oh and i calculated the final price for each model:
JCQS-440 mk-II will be 540$ (US$)
JCQS-440 mk-III will be 400$ (US$)
Yes they are both new and improved! The new and improved mk-III is less expensive than the mk-II? Reverse inflation?
Edit: I guess something can not be both new and improved..
