The Main Ingredient - Euphrates River would be my choice.

Laid back Soul album with a solid set of tracks and excellent mix.

it's 3+1 for me this time round with the Wizard of Watfordshire's latest Multichannel releases..!

go for your guns, it's gonna get Hair-y when the 4-channel dynamite goes off we're gonna live it up in the.. Bermuda Triangle of Quadraphonic goodness.!!

it looks like a pretty awesome 4-channel 4-some.. and then some!!

i will report back here as soon as i get a chance to play these wee beauts maybe tonight

You know what DV is missing on their website? I "wish list" after you log in. There are many I've seen but, being in the US with higher shipping costs, I like to get a batch of 5-10 before actually pulling the trigger. Sure, I start a list, but it would be so easy to have such a list on their website. Kind of Amazon-like. I'd probably end up buying more of them.

with DV's Quad SACDs it's like with all the Quadio Rhino Blu-ray's, my wishlist for them both is easy; it's all of them..!!!

i'm maybe not the best person to advise you as i love all 3 of those! ..

but if i had to "go for my guns" i'd say choose The Main Ingredient for the Surround (it's epic!!), The Hues Corporation for the tunes (it's great to boogie round the room to!) and Philadelphia Freedom for the arrangements and the musicianship (maaaan, those MFSB cats was cookin' on that album.. meeeowww!!)

basically you can't go wrong with any of them and the other 2 can stay on the list for any future purchases!

I have a digital conversion of either a Q8 or QR version of Hair from way back, not sure at this point of the provenance. But a very good sounding quad for a Broadway show.

Since I'm a rabid film buff, the only analogy I can offer is 35mm film is certainly superior to 16mm and 70mm superior to 35mm! And it's ALL up there on the BIG SCREEN!

But sometimes (often...usually!) 70mm was just bloated up from a 35mm negative, which I think is analogous to the original point about the 44.1->SACD release.

Though to be fair, prior to theatrical digital audio the main point of most 70mm releases was the ability to have discrete 6-track magnetic sound.

I'm in for all of the quad releases. Will be great to have a nice transfer of Go For Your Guns as the one on the streamers is brickwalled to ****. Such a fantastic album and mix...

Must update now that Firebird, Daphnis and now Bermuda are all on D-V sacd. These were the ones really "missing in action", all the others are present, maybe scattered on two discs.
