Focus - 3

From the 50 Years box set.
Adventurous and interesting are the first two words that come to mind.
Apparently Sylvia was a fairly substantial hit single. Never heard it before, nice song though.
Sound much warmer (almost too warm) than their previous two discs.

Marillion An Hour Before Its Dark while I rip and tag both the BD or this and Star One Revel In Time.
I am digging it quite a bit and look forward to listening to it downstairs in surround.

Focus - Ship of Memories

This is a compilation of studio tracks recorded over a 5 year span but it holds together well as a cohesive album and the sound is surprisingly consistent.
Not all of the bonus tracks are winners but overall a nice finish to the studio portion of the 50 Years box set.

Focus - Live 1971-1975

The last of nine CDs from the box set.
These early 70’s live recordings have been very good though for the most part they contain the same 7 or 8 songs (so I’m a little burned out on Hocus Pocus).

I love this version of the song “I Don’t Need No Doctor”.
killer vocals by Marriott, Frampton guitar, maybe just needs a little more cowbell- LOL
BUT, this is the kind of Rock that begs to be cranked up (y)
As a side note, when thinking Humble Pie though, I guess the Quad mix on the Smokin’ Q8 isn’t legit, is that right?

Ron Miles CIRCUIT RIDER [ENJA/Japanese Import Stereo RBCD] With Ron Miles very recent passing, thought I'd spin this delightful 2013 recording with Miles on Coronet, Bill Frisell on guitar and Brian Blade on Drums. Excellent performances!
