From the 50 Years box set.
Adventurous and interesting are the first two words that come to mind.
Apparently Sylvia was a fairly substantial hit single. Never heard it before, nice song though.
Sound much warmer (almost too warm) than their previous two discs.

Focus - At the Rainbow

This sounds great for a live album, and the music is equally great.
In a way I’m kind of surprised they were popular, this music is so uncommercial.
And I say that as a compliment.

Focus - Mother Focus

I like this album but compared their previous releases it doesn’t sound like Focus.
The prog is completely gone, replaced by a funky fusion sound. After tracks that would sometimes last an entire album side, the longest song here is 3:57

A classic, probably never mixed in surround? I'll feed it through the surroundmaster though, once I get my surround setup again

Focus - Ship of Memories

This is a compilation of studio tracks recorded over a 5 year span but it holds together well as a cohesive album and the sound is surprisingly consistent.
Not all of the bonus tracks are winners but overall a nice finish to the studio portion of the 50 Years box set.

The last of nine CDs from the box set.
These early 70’s live recordings have been very good though for the most part they contain the same 7 or 8 songs (so I’m a little burned out on Hocus Pocus).

BUT, this is the kind of Rock that begs to be cranked up
