Robert Palmer - Double Fun

The first RP album I ever bought (on vinyl) and still one of my favourites.
The last with the guys from Little Feat.
Final track (the reason I bought the LP way back when) “You’re Gonna Get What’s Coming” rocks good; a precursor to the harder edge his music would take in the future.

Robert Palmer - Secrets

Still funky and soulful but leans way more to rock, especially the guitars.
Personally I find “Bad Case of Loving You” his most annoying hit but there is some really good stuff here. “Woman You’re Wonderful” is a great track.

Alanis Morissette - Havoc and Bright Lights

The completist in me forced this buy and I didn’t expect much at this stage of her career, but this is a really good album.
Not a dud song in the bunch including the two bonus tracks.
Her odd pronunciation and awkward phrasing takes some getting used to but so what.
Sounds a bit compressed at times but not egregiously so.
Nice surprise overall.

Danielle Dax - Dark Adapted Eye

Knew virtually nothing of this artist but am willing to try anything Rubellan Remasters releases.
The gamble paid off, this is a cool album.
She’s very diverse, makes me want to track down more of her music.
Great sound too

Robert Palmer - Clues

I bought this on vinyl when it came out. Listening to it now I have ask myself “why?”
Must have liked one of the singles I suppose, but with its stabs of new wave sounds and odd songs I can’t say I like anything here now.
Can’t win ‘em all.

I have always been an Iron Butterfly fan. Just got this clam shell box set from Esoteric Recordings. If I remember correctly Ball was my first Iron Butterfly LP.
These all sound really good with studio albums DR's 10 and up. The two Fillmore East discs are 8 and up. Does not sound like a bootleg live at all.
Highly recommend this inexpensive box set.

Bocephus King - Amarcord

Personal favourite (though I am biased, he’s from my little hometown). Basically unknown here but big in Italy, it’s his Italian label that released this comp covering his first 5 albums along with 3 previously unreleased tracks.
Bluesy Americana with great lyrics is the best description I can come up with.

Robert Palmer - Pride

Only knew one song (You Are In My System), nothing else here stands out.
More synthy than the Clues album with tons of annoying fake drums.
The low point of his career IMO.

Robert Palmer - Riptide

Complete turnaround from his previous electronic album, Pride.
On this one the booming drums, crunchy guitars and multiple great songs still sound fresh 37(!) years later.
I'm a big Robert Palmer fan, sure wish he was still here, amazing us with new music.
