This one is a simply beautiful, transcendent spiritual experience. Highly recommended for those seeking ecstatic enlightenment . . . blue lights optional!

In somewhat of a New Agey mood today as well, Clem. For $0.99 you can add this to your collection from Discogs. Lovely and should decode well through your SM:

As a Cure fan from way back then I loved 17 Seconds, Faith and Pornography...seeing them on the Faith tour is a fave show ever of mine. These post-porn singles gave me mixed feelings...LGTBed I thought was awful, The Walk not much better....Lovecats an excellent fun single. I suppose it was all about Bob not getting into a stereotype rut, showing the lighter fun side of himself but I preferred the dark and bleak.

Correct... I have intentionally chosen to listen to Flash. (BluSpec version) I remember when this came out and one reviewer in particular was not filled with a lot of joy for it. But I do recall him saying, “... but People Get Ready is worth the price of admission.” Very true. Great song and and a wonderful video that went with it.

However, while this album usually doesn’t rank highly among fans, I would argue that even the worst Jeff Beck album (whichever album you may think it is) will feature enough great guitar work to make it a worthwhile listen.

The shred fan in me loves the solos in Gets Us All In The End and Back On The Street. And I think You Know, We Know is a really nice instrumental.

Maybe it’s just me, but I can see a line between this album and the more techno direction he went starting with Who Else. At the time, Flash seemed like such a left-turn even for a guy who made a number of them. But now in context of his whole discography, it’s not as crazy as it felt at the time.

It’s rare I pull this one out, but this felt like the week to do it.

I’ve been enjoying having the house to myself today and being able to listen to music without interruption, or someone coming up behind me with the music cranked and getting the crap scared out of me.

Wanted to make sure the day included some Earth, Wind & Fire to mark the loss of Fred White recently. Plus, with no one else in the house, I can make multiple failed attempts to hit Philip Bailey notes.

In theory, any band’s “Best Of” should be amazing, but I think this one tops my best of “best-ofs”.

Tangerine Dream - Live At the Victoria Palace Theatre, London - 16th June 1974

This concert comprises Discs 4 & 5 of the Hades box set. Great sound especially for a live recording, and more interesting to listen to than some of the studio records.
