Simon announced a few months ago that he'd no longer tour.

Got to hear/see Paul & Art w/special guests Everly Brothers on Old Friends tour.

Also visited Simon's office in Brill Building NYC. He was away touring on Rhythm of the Saints album. Has a wall behind his desk with gold & platinum awards. Impressive!

Didn't get to meet Simon. I did meet Senator Paul Simon on an airplane. "How's Garfunkel," I asked. He replied, "you know, I met him." He did an SNL episode w/other Simon.

True, but he can still write and record.

I saw him playing as half of a double bill with Dylan. Every night they would alternate being the opener.

My brother in law talked my wife and I into attending opening night at Mohegan Sun Casino in CT. I played the slots starting with $20(won $70 and walked away) and then wandered into the Wolf’s Den to catch some free live entertainment. The Everly Brothers with Albert Lee on guitar.

Super Furry Animals. Guerrilla. 1999.
Al fresco.
This awesome album has a great hidden track called Citizens Band. At track 1, press rewind and the clock will go into minus numbers, hold it till it reaches 5 minutes. Voila!

Alas, the late great Valerie Carter doesn’t get the credit she deserves. Jackson Browne wrote “The Girl Could Sing” about her. Also did great backup vocals for JT on “Junkie’s Lament;” and she definitely walked the walk. When she went to court on drug charges JT himself testified on her behalf. And don’t forget her song, “Cook With Honey”!

There was a dancer at a topless bar I used to frequent in those days who liked that song a lot. Fine memories!

Tilt-a-whirl!!! From Sunrise on the Sufferbus by Masters of Reality. It featured their then new drummer, Peter "Ginger" Baker, RIP. YOU NEED IT!!!

It was a relatively short stint but a really great record with MOR resulted. Ginger Baker Trio came shortly after I believe and those two CDs are great as well.
