The Bluebird Recordings 1941 - 1942 - Big Maceo (Merriweather) CD (mono)
The Victor/Bluebird Recordings 1945 - 1947 - Big Maceo (Merriweather) CD (mono)

Recordings are Maceo's complete Bluebird & RCA Victor recordings as a leader. Maceo played piano in Tampa Red's band. Collections don't include Tampa Red as a leader. He does, however play guitar on all tracks on both CD's.

NOT to be confused with Maceo Parker who played sax with James Brown & PFunk.

You guys are killing me. Ferry/Roxy, Parsons, Phil Lynott and Deep Purple in Rock. ALL CD's that are begging for me to listen more often.

Hamilton59, you posted Pyramid, and it immediately made me think of playing it more, and more so for Eve. Both great.

In Rock is a fantastic album. I got a neat-o UK remaster in the late 90's. Gotta play that more. How does the AF Gold CD sound, beefalo?

How's the MoFi silver Barnstorm?

Hey Linda, do you have Mike & Micky Live? (The Monkees) Assuming you do, how does it sound? If the CD is squashed to death, makes me wonder about the vinyl version.

No yet, Gene. This is one of so many, even by most favorite artists that I haven't bought yet. In another time, I would have had it the first day on the street. Both Joe and I are Monkees fans. Whenever we get it, it will be on CD.

Thanks to surround mixes, SACD's, & ultra deeluxe box sets, I spend more $$$ than ever on software. In spite of that, my collection has more holes than ever before. It's a challenge to pick up these limited things before they get pricey and/or extinct.

Anyone here have Mike & Micky Show and care to review it?

Good morning Quadess
The AF is really a gem. From heavy metal "Speed King" to melodic "Child in Time"
Hoffman mastered & hdcd encoded. Very good fidelity. It hits hard and can be cranked up loud.

Barnstorm has great songs. I love the variety.
Some really dynamic DR14 and some really loud DR10.
I think they really boosted the low bass.
Still an excellent listen. Don't get the 2006 CD.

This 2 CD set is a great vibe of that time, I was there. Jorge Santana (Malo) passed away today, 😞

Wow, that's one hell of a line up Mark! That would be pure heaven man, need to check that out. I saw Jorge play in a small club back in the day and he could play his brother's tunes just as well as Carlos did.
