I need some soothing sounds right now so I'll go for these 2 classics. I would love to hear these in Quad. What a wonderful thing that would be.

The Doobies recreating some of their hits with other artists.
Haven’t heard of half of the guests, and the Doobies contributions vary from lead vocals and guitars on some tracks to not much more than background vocals on others.
Regardless, it’s better than I expected.
The highlight is a great version of Long Train Runnin’

Southbound is one of many titles I need to get. Surround and high-res releases of fave albums have taken precedence. New releases by artists I "subscribe to" and non-surround boxes have had to take a back seat.

Moonflower is a SPECTACULAR album! How's the Japan CD's? I have "subscribed" to Santana since I their 1st album. Have seen them 8 times. One of my most fave acts. I've bought the 2 LP, 2 CD & 2 CD expanded w/3 single versions. Half live/half studio, it's a tour-de-force. Greg Walker was the lead singer. I'm still in awe of "I'll Be Waiting" and "Zulu," the last 2 tracks on Side 1. YOU NEED THIS!!

Listening to:
Strange Euphoria - Heart 3 CD/1 DVD

Pepper's Pow-Wow - Jim Pepper CD 1st recorded version of Witchi-Tai-To by the author.

More Jack Than Blues - Jack Bruce German CD/DVD live '06

George Russell in K.C. w/Don Ellis EU CD

After the Hurricane - Songs for Montserrat - Various Artists MoFi Gold CD

Moonflower is spectacular. Amigos & Festival were OK but I feel they lost a bit of their "Rock Edge". Moonflower pumped adrenaline into the Amigos & Festival songs.
My favorite part is Tom Coster on "Dance Sister Dance" I think you also mentioned the medley that starts side #1. The guitar break into "Let the Children Play" is a favorite earworm of mine.
I was 20 years old when I went to a mid-week concert on this tour. Didn't sleep and happily made it to work the next day with a LSD hangover.
I have a Japan 1st press vinyl but this Japan CD sounds just as good.

Just saw trailer for Da 5 Bloods coming on Netflix. The trailer featured the song "Time Had Come Today" w/some footage of the Chambers Brothers.

Have errands to run and will be playing The Time Has Come expanded CD today. In the car, cranked w/the top down. If you have only heard the 45 of Time Has Come, you ain't never heard it for real. There's a killer psychedellic jam in the middle that the 45 edited out.

It is always worth reading every thread here on QQ.
I have a lot of Santana albums but never got Moonflower. This thread reminded me of that. I remember hearing their version of the Zombies classic on the radio and liking it.
Based on Beefalos liking of the Japanese Cd and Quadlindas discussion of the extra single versions I found an affordable copy of the Japanese CD on the bay.
Hope its not a bootleg like the Steven Wilson Drive On bluray I bought recently...…..ebay wont do anything about it.

The closest I have been to seeing them live was the Carlos Santana and Jeff Beck tour I saw a number of years ago.

Saving money not on QQ....
