ya know I listened to The Doors "Riders On the Storm #10" and I wasn't impressed.
too much front end chatter ruined the mood of the song for me, and it had too much center channel focus
Is this one on Tidal? How is the mix?
I don't have Tidal only Apple; and not sure if it's the whole album or just that song. The mix was OK, nothing to right home about, but I'd need to hear it again for a detailed listen. Is this one on Tidal? How is the mix?
This is one of my absolute favorites in Atmos.I love the chatter in the beginning and the thunder and rain in the height speakers.Must have played this over 50 times, first on Tidal and now on Apple Music.ya know I listened to The Doors "Riders On the Storm #10" and I wasn't impressed.

I even run my heights 3-4 db hot,and I still love it! It's one of my all time 10 favorite songs.Stereo,5.1,quad and now Atmos, I never get tired of it.Well, I also think the rain and thunder is too loud as the song is playing. Sometimes it could be as it is, but too loud the whole thing.
Beside that it is a good Atmos mix
it’s all man, keep liking what ya liking, it does make me want to bust out my ol peep show box and hear how different it is from that version, I just don’t have the finely tuned memory like sj… also thinking… now thanks to the wonderful tutelage of sj with Audacity I’m able to go back in and edit out some similar chatter like that on another fav Doors “The Cars Hiss By My Window” the little blues ditty that someone decided to ruin in the surround version. I probably can just go in, and surgically remove it by isolating the vocals, then invert that part and remix back in; poof gone-zo’d like a distant Doppler hiss in the breeze (or a hot summer fart)This is one of my absolute favorites in Atmos.I love the chatter in the beginning and the thunder and rain in the height speakers.Must have played this over 50 times, first on Tidal and now on Apple Music.
Atmos certainly takes things to a new dimension when done well. However, for me, I find that the very best 5.1 mixes out there are better than the vast majority of Atmos mixes. I listened to PF Wish You Were Here 5.1 the other day for the first time in a while and I was pleasantly surprised how well it holds up for me. I think there’s a “kid in a candy store” element to the current Atmos offerings on Apple Music, and I’m loving it for sure, but have to admit to being somewhat disappointed with many of the mixes, especially on some of the older classic rock and jazz tunes. So it’s kind of hit and miss. But the future looks bright. And so does the past. Don’t give up on the 5.1 gems in your collection. They will provide you with years of enjoyment.Wondering how you guys feel about this?
My last 5.1 surrounds have been good, but I listen longing for more. It is what it is, not sure if they the new ones are not great or is the tide turning on me?
I question myself because I seem to be liking everything I hear in Dolby Atmos, whether it be weak Atmos or big Atmos, either way the room fills up more, the fidelity of the music itself seems to shine a bit more and the overall experience of listening in the bubble is highly enjoyable.
I still love good stereo, but stereo is very definitive and has it's place, you know what your getting.
I wonder, am I turning into Atmos surround or no surround?
I, the same as all of you have large collections of surround that will never get the Atmos treatment, so I hope I still continue to love good surround no matter how it comes. Plus do I really like the idea of buying everything all over, no fucking way, I swear I will not do that.

And they probably will be! $$$$$Since I have been listening to lots of Atmos(and some Auro) I find myself wishing all my fav 5.1 titles were remixed again.
Not if someone sent Dolby the definitive list of Late Boomers multichannel music titles compiled from suggestions here, if they had pull with Dolby they may be able to convince Apple Music to also cater to late boomers who also own some serious Atmos Setups. I am doing that! And they probably will be! $$$$$
