Mixed by who? Steven Wilson?
Nope.

Also, I have never heard of this group before. Must go check them out now! :)
Seriously? They formed out of the ashes of Bauhaus, with a gap of 2 years after the spilit before getting together in the studio to see what happened ("Ball Of Confusion", "Lucifer Sam" and "Inside The Outside") and when BOC became a major hit for them the first album followed, originally produced/mixed & mastered by John Rivers (who also did their second album "Express") and there is a 5CD box set of remastered versions now available - that has been done seriously well for a change.
They recorded 7 studio albums, one live album & I know there are 3 others (live) in the can that never saw light of day at the time.
A seriously great band, to my mind.

Don't forget Jerry Harrison/Talking Heads if that's your thing :sun

This is a trick post right? You are trying to draw me out and say something like Talking Heads are for
elevator repair technicians or for Kindergarden music classes...

Well no, I will not fall for that old trick. I won't utter a bloody word. ;)

I will say I've been playing the 2013 live Quadrophenia three times while I wait for my 1973 5.1 bluray from UMG England...

Too late, you have already implied it…

The Game - Queen (DVD-A).

Let's ROCK!!

I'd forgotten quite how much speaker ping pong there is going on in this surround mix.. lots of round the room panning and stuff yo-yo-ing back and forth from front to rear and back again, etc.. FAB! :p

Oh Dennis..!@:

Somebody has to stand up for TH.. the Brick in 5.1 is terrific, some of my favourite music mixes right there.. and really I know you're only playing and it's all meant in good fun but you're being a bit mean about them, some great music to be had and all in great sounding surround. You may not care for Talking Heads but lots of us do. I'm not about to bash The Who because I love them too but what if somebody here took the piss out of The Who all the time, how would you feel? Just sayin'.. :)

You don't miss much, do you Champ?

By the way, big-time thanks for the review about Power & Glory. I'm not surprised to hear it will be really fabulous.

How's your Master's program coming along?

Let's just say there have been some AMAZING things that have happened since I started working on this Final Project on surround sound mixing.
More on those amazing things later on… ;)

Songs In A Minor - Alicia Keys (DVD-A).

Great surround mix (Thom Cadley) and lovely mastering (Joseph M.Palmaccio)..

..Check it out y'all, its dope and fly and fresh and shit. Well, it's not bad shit, its street hustlin' superstylin' down with the kids good shit. Though it is bad, you know it! You know its bad! Owwww..!! :p

D'OH! You know what I mean.. I hope!!

The surround highlight is definitely "A Woman's Worth".. ThomC really nailed the mix.

Honey - Ohio Players (DTS CD).

A superb Quad mix and with sound quality so good you'd think it was Hi-Res. It's still widely available for under $10 new, if you don't have it already --- go for it! (y)

Moi??? I didn't say anything!!! :howl PK was trying to trick me like he always does but I am wise to his trickery.

No more Talking Heads bashing from me.(y) The TH crowd are of one tough Hombre. The only gang more dangerous are the XTC fan-boy set. I'll have nothing to do with either lot. Regular ruffians they are.

Yes, I couldn't agree more. Thick As A Brick is a marvelous 5.1 issue and not to be missed. (y)

You ask how I would feel if others teased about my music? Adam: Really??? Are you serious??? I was mocked and beaten when I showed up to a tent-beer party when I was 14 and I proudly played Rick Wakeman's Journey. When the choir sang "save me... save me" I was beaten, insulted and had my beer rations removed. Fact.

I've supported Gentle Giant & Nektar since 1976. Do you have any idea how much ridiclue and scorn I suffered from the Linda Rondstat fans, then The Police fans, the Punk then 80s hair bands then 90s alternative(don't even mention the 2000s crowd...) M8, I've been bloody crucified for almost 40 years when it comes to my tastes in music. I've been tortured so extensively it created my alter ego: Dennis Moore. Kinda like how Captain Jack Sparrow lost a few of his marbles from torture...

Relax me ole China. Get a pint of bitters and blast your favorite 5.1. Its all in fun.

If anybody is the victim, it is me: My Quadrophenia in 5.1 has not arrived yet, Nobody will say which YES is next in 5.1., The ELP - BSS was a disaster, my best m8, Colsky is on bloody holiday so he can't defend me here, iMachine still has not learned to vote correctly ;) And you have not sent me the Aqualung BluRay box set which I requested.

"...take me to the room where the beat's all round..gonna eat that sound...yeah yeah yeah" !!!

The Who - Quadrophenia STUDIO-Version in 5.1!

It is fantastic Dennis....but be patient :).
With every day your vote will climb to 10 :).

Yes, I saw your review. You gave it a 9.@:

I am very familar with the 1/3 of Quadrophenia that was released already in 5.1. And it was a 10. So the complete release is:
10 plus Lupins! Don't you Germans understand basic math?(y)

@FredBlue: See how I am ridiculed on a daily basis??? This silly sod gave my top 3, best of all time recording a BLOODY NINE!

Geesh!

Word.

It makes me sad to hear you were bullied for your musical preference, DMJ :( Nobody has the right to bash anyone's musical taste! That said, two wrongs don't make a right and I'm pleased to hear you're calling a truce with the Talking Heads and the XTC-ers! Life's a rich tapestry and there's similarly a world of diversity in music enough to go round for everyone. I'm not keen on rap for example but others are into it and that's great and I'm genuinely happy for them. Each to his own and to hell with anyone who doesn't respect you and your taste in music. This world is music you just gotta listen :wave
