OK gang....still jamming to Keane. Current song is "Everybody's Changing" I tell you, this song just rocks....amazing musicianship. It soars in 5.1.....

Great album...early Keane is best Keane.....

Love the song "Somewhere only we know"

Have you heard the album Under the Iron Sea?

Great!!!

ooooooo
Keane...
they're DANGEROUS STUFF...their songs become incessant earworms...BUT I LOVE THEM....yeah , their recent stuff is fine but I think their best is "Under the Iron Sea"....too bad that never got the Surround treatment...

Agreeing with all this talk about Keane, fantastic band I have both the sacd(thinking of selling this) as I also bought the dvd audio of same first album(so I could play in car) and then bought all the albums times 3(for Christmas for my 3 kids last year) as they are huge fans of Keane now as well.
The first 2 albums are both fantastic and I really like the expanded last album(Strangeland) as to me its just as good as first 2 albums, any of these would be must buys in surround bud sadly we probably won't see them.

Keane Live(2009 Bluray) is also a great addition if you guys don't have it.

I do have the blu-ray and enjoy watching it. The keyboard guy is outstanding and really gets into it..

The Allman Brothers-Live At The Fillmore East Blu ray set.....TFF-SFTBC.....YES-The Yes Album

Septicflesh: The great Mass.
I am still in the process of making the relevant adjustments, via Audacity for this album. The vocals(brilliantly done might I add) are too low in the mix.

The production on Septicflesh albums is mind numbingly excellent. Shame this mix is not all that. SW could of worked wonders with this material!

Does Under The Iron Sea sound compressed...check this out

It is ALL compressed...unfortunately, the Loudness wars rears its ugly head..again...here are the waves and spectrum of side A of the UTIS LP...I think the CD is way more compressed....
EDIT: (One more reason I prefer an LP over a CD...LPs are usually not as compressed as CDs and they have info above 20K, like this one)

Steve Miller Band-Fly Like An Eagle DTS CD....

"Feed the babies...who don't have enough to eat...shoe the children..with no shoes on their feet..house the people..livin' in the street..oh,oh, there's a solution"

Steve is 71 now...his song came out in 1976...sad to say those lyrics are still relevant today..maybe worse in some countries...great album and great sounding disc..I wish there was a "solution"....

I bought that when it came out on DVD...the Surround mix is nothing to write home about...ahh , but the performance!!!!!

First Porcupine Tree Deadwing then Breezin with Benson. I know weird combo but that what I chose.

You need to put some Doors on and CRANK IT UP...L.A.Woman would be a good choice...

Good point..so...

The Doors - L.A. Woman (DVD-Audio)

it does sound great...I guess this sounds much better than I remember. Pretty clean surround mix...punchy and upfront vocals, drums and synth!

Edit - I think my new Denon seems to pick apart this disc better than my old 988 did. hearing some stuff I don't recall...
