Reggae Master - Bob Marley DVD-V Drool Disc 5.1 Well, at least they call it surround. Sticker and back of case say DVD Audio, which it isn't. Perhaps they meant audio DVD-V.

Oh..WOW upon WOW..!!!!

Maybe this is the future (of the past) for surround..?!?

An SQ encoded CD!

Nobody can say these are too expensive to reproduce, surely!?

Just ditch the Blu-Spec bit and.. Bingo! Surround on a CD - AT LAST..!!!!

This deserves a big ol'...

does anyone know.. are the Art Garfunkel "Breakaway" and the "Blood, Sweat & Tears" albums in this Blu-spec CD series also SQ encoded!?

I can't find any detailed info on these anywhere..!? :(

Wow, now I want all those @: Still, some part of me still prefers to play the vinyl (not even just quad but stereo as well).

What would be cool, is if some brave individual installed an SQ decoder in the trunk of a car. Just slap a Tate II in there and convert the wiring ;) Hook it the car's CD player to the Decoder. Then run the output of the decoder to an amp for front and an amp for rear. Voila, SQ Quad CD car stereo. It would definately be more creative than a Q8 player or a DVD player for quad/surrpound. Then you could also listen to all your regular CD's in fake quad

also, it appears there are a total of 15 EWF albums in this Blu-Spec cd reissue series..

including "That's The Way of the World"..!

are you thinking what I'm thinking.. I wonder how many of these are SQ encoded..?!?

(Potentially) Sooooo exciting..!!!!!

BS&T has no SQ logo. I'll research Breakaway later today when I have time. The owner at Dusty Groove is checking for more Blu-Spec SQ's. None of the other EWF's have an SQ logo. I'e bought 3 Blu- Spec's and they all sound great.

Sorry to rain on peoples parade, but i've tested this release and it isn't SQ encoded, mores the shame

Actually, Blu-Spec CDs sound fantastic. I was sceptical when they came out, but I bought a few used ones on eBay and I am convinced.

oh no, I wasn't referring to blu-spec not having any merit or being a waste of time, rather the added cost of production/replication versus a regular redbook cd.

if Sony could use just an ordinary cd rather than an expensive/premium blu-spec disc for these SQ releases and press these things domestically, imagine the benefits in decreased retail costs to surround music fans!

Wow! Great find. This is a favorite Quadraphonic title. Please let us know how it sounds. Thanks.

We should have a thread that lists all these new SQ discs that are coming out now. Mark Anderson can then add them to the Surround discography.

Oxford Dickie reckons it doesn't decode in SQ after all :(
