I agree that ALL of Edgar's LPs in Quad are GREAT!!!!
I myself did a conversion of the "blue" one (1975) to DVD-A im LPCM 4.0 96/24 and it sounds heavenly. Excellent mix and music...

if only the quad mixes of TOCOAN, Shock Treatment and the EWG/RD LP were also available :(

I believe the DTS guys chose JN for the DTS CD treatment back in the day as it wasn't available at all on CD at that time.

you know, those DTS guys were amazing, real pioneers of modern day surround music. I wish they were still releasing stuff, some of those quad to DTS CDs are among my most treasured surround discs to this day.

Dig up the AstroTurf - Jeff Trott (DVDA).

(finally getting round to opening some of this months' stuff!)

musically a bit "by the numbers" thought pleasant enough.. sonically the EQ's a bit 'smiley faced' (i.e. jacked up highs and lows and recessed mid)..

the surround mix however is very nice indeed, with lots of whizzy/swooshy sound effects, panning, ping-ponging vocals and instruments, etc.

lead vocal dancing around the channels in "Dalai Lama" good fun and I guess it adds something of the "mysterious" to an otherwise pretty pedestrian song.

is there a Poll for this? I can't find it using the search tool on here.

If you don't like google search (n), then please ignore this post.

I mentioned this a while back, but it's been a while. I use the google "site:" (y) key word to search QQ (or any site, really.) You use the "site:" key word like this:

site:www.quadraphonicquad.com/forums Dig up the AstroTurf - Jeff Trott

so it will search everything at the url after "site:" and then after a space add your key words (in this case "Dig up the AstroTurf - Jeff Trott"). The vBulletin advanced search works well too, but I've found this method a little faster and more accurate. If you are in Chrome or IE9, you just insert "site:" before whatever is in your address bar (if you are at the site you want to search) and then go to the end and type the key words you are looking for. I haven't tested it for IE8 or or other browsers, but you can always go to google.com and use the "site:" type of search in the regular google search dialog.
