Andy Jackson - Signal to Noise; DVD-A, 4.0

Kudos to Mr. Jackson - he knows how to create an enjoyable and immersive surround mix. This is one of the better modern quad mixes I’ve heard.

Wish Roger could agree with David to let Andy do any and all remaining Floyd surround mixes as he’s left his mentor and teacher James Guthrie in the dust IMO.

Haven't listened to this one in a little while:

Roger Waters - Amused to Death 🤣 💀

Art Garfunkle - Breakaway; SACD 4.0
Have had this for a few months and this is only my second spin of this release and I’d never heard it before, but it’s starting to grow on me. The mix is big, lush, and enveloping with Art’s beautiful voice prominently displayed via an amazing phantom center. Nice!

IMHO, Garfunkel's best album. I bought this on SQ, CD and Quad SACD. Caught him live solo and w/Simon.

You need it!!

Damn, this is a good mix! I wish this had lead to a series of Allman Bros releases :(

As far as the actual music goes...the guitar playing is just superb...Duane was just incredible....and even though Midnight Rider was popular...the album sales weren't very good... but the band's reputation really took off based on their live shows...and the surround just works so well for the music...

I've been listening to a lot of Tim Bowness - one-half of No-Man with Steve Wilson. His last-but-one album Lost in the Ghost Light included 5.1 mixes of both the main album and its predecessor, Stupid Things That Mean the World, and both are excellent...

i feel a follow up "I've Got 5.1 Ears.." may be on the horizon! :phones

more seriously, it would be a great thing to have such a resource not just as a useful buying guide but as a reference, there's been so many surround music releases of non-Quad material over the last 20 years or so across so many formats, where practically the only places many of them have been mentioned is here at QuadraphonicQuad or sites such as Mark Anderson's surround discography.. anyway just a thought :)

Help an ignorant Pupster - Please.
OK folks, it's been awhile since the Japan 2007 SACD of Kind Of Blue was released and I just realized I've only got the Dualdisc version of this masterpiece.
So, who feels that the 2007 version is a superior mastering to the other SACD versions, or not?
