Totally agree, such a good album but the sizzle that they put in extra compression on mixing or mastering of this made this into a average 5.1 instead of a great one which it should have been, it should have been great. The album though is one of my fav's from the Genesis catalogue.

I blame the mastering engineer.
I could be wrong, but I'm sure we would all enjoy these 5.1 mixes a lot more if they were released flat so we could hear exactly what Nick Davis intended.

I was listening to it and enjoying the music (while I was on the computer)...which is pretty good....and then WHAM...angry eyes came on...geeze...what a great version of that song...it certainly got my attention...

Oh good....I swear...back when I ordered my copy and mentioned I couldn't wait to hear Angry Eyes in Quad...someone told me it wasn't a very good sounding Quad mix....

oh... its a good one! (all the Loggins & Messina Quads I've heard are good mixes, I hope AF get to redo them all on SACD!)

Oh dear gawd.. he ruined, I mean, remastered, a load of old Elton stuff, including the stereo on the SACDs afaik.. do you think he gets leant on and is only obeying orders or he actually thinks he is doing a good job?

Loggins and Messina - Loggins and Messina Quad SACD, as has already been stated...Excellent fidelity and Excellent mix "Angry Eyes" best L&M song...but all good! More Loggins and Messina in Quad SACD please AF.

In this instance, probably more of the latter, but I wouldn't know for sure.

Peter Gabriel - Down to Earth. I was watching Wall-e with my son and let the final credits run. To my surprise, Gabriel's song is mixed in surround! It's too late here to play it loud, but the mixed looked like discrete. Need to check it tomorrow at daytime
